This year I put the entire 15300 srs into the hsbc 3 year 2.5% plan as I didn't know what to buy. I am considering a roboadvisor or lionglobal all seasons for future years. Endowus has the expense ratio advantage so it seems to be good though I am still figuring out its allocation strategy.
Jin angry, the HSBC one crosed so fast!

those who got keep 70k in ocbc 360 can consider put 20k SRS structured deposits

interest about 2% guaranteed and your ocbc360 will have more bonus interest

EDIT: currently ocbc no structured deposit tranche

Structured deposit are structured to siphon money from you, never ever put your money into any structured deposit.

Put into endowment plan is better in comparison.

can i ask if 62yo is the withdrawal age, means 72yo is the end of 10 year period?

or this 10 year countdown only starts from date of 1st withdrawal?
i.e. withdraw at 70, means 80 is max age to withdraw

it's from date of 1st penalty-free withdrawal

like your second scenario. also say, if at 45 you urgently need some money and make a withdrawal and pay penalty that doesn't count towards the 10 years

10 years from first penalty-free withdrawal. There are a few penalty-free scenarios the most common is being aged 62 or above, but they include being bankrupt, terminal illnesses and medical grounds.

https://www.iras.gov.sg/irashome/In...etirement-Scheme--SRS-/Tax-on-SRS-withdrawal/

You don't have to immediately start age age 62. Ideally you should start when you stop working or if you slow down your working such that your taxable becomes very low.

thanks alot for the clarification, have read the mof guide etc.

then there isnt a penalty to opening earlier to lock in 62 vs possible 65 age next time.

Hi there,

You should be able to open the SRS account online.
Could you drop us a private message and share with us if you have encountered any error messages while trying to open the account?

Hi there,

Updating of SRS contribution cap will be completed by mid January of the calendar year. Before this update of the contribution cap is completed, customers won't be able to do SRS contribution via Internet Banking.

Customer who wishes to make SRS contribution before the completion of the update can visit our branches to make the contribution, or call our hotline to put in a request for the contribution cap update to be expedited.
