Jungceylon, Central Festival Phuket . those two are the more popular shopping mall ... central festival phuket more things to shop ...

jungceylon have a big c extra that closes quite late ... many mainland tourists there , quite crowded at times ...

Thanks so much.

Will go look for this 2.

Not a nice place to drive around. Tiny roads and bad traffic in Patong

Patong area usually is 2 lanes at each direction ...
there are few up and down slopes too ...
cars are driving at fast speed ...
have taken car that drive 140 speed overtaking the lorry infront ... dangerous as the car is cutting the front lorry by cutting into the other direction lane ...

Hahaha.. the way you described seem like Phuket is more expensive than bkk leh.

And car rental 8hrs for 2000. U mean rent car or rent car with driver? If car only then it's super expensive.

I tot usually go Phuket is for the beach activities? I never been before but heard the transportation is really expensive there compared to other places in Thailand. Is that right?

8 hrs 2000b with driver english speaking ...
sometimes they would use a 9-seater van, sometimes suv or mpv ...
depending on the company you engage in ...

grab in phuket starts from 250b onwards ...
transportation is not cheap ... tuk tuk taxi also about 200+ onwards at least ...

Any nice family hotel for 2A and 2C that come with bathtub to recommended near Jungceylon?

Going on June holiday (Low Season) as the weather may not be good to go island hopping so prefer to stay near Jungceylon.

Anyone tried The Lantern Resorts Patong b4? Like the location but worry will be too noisy at night...

You might want to consider 2 bedroom or connecting room instead.
However, hotels near junceylon mall, most of them do not comes with 2 bedroom. most of the newer hotels, doesnt comes with bathtub for the lower tier rooms. Have stayed before at tiger hotel (no connecting room). Their hotel seems old, kinda dark inside especially in the evening (they do not have lights at the corridor sometimes), but most or all of their rooms comes with bathtub. Their deluxe room comes with jacuzzi.

So far, the best hotel that we have stayed in that area is Pimnara Boutique Hotel. However, only their higher tier rooms have bathtub (those bowl type).
Their service is good, only 2 floors. Hotel is located within the junceylon mall.

Have tried few hotels in patong area, epsecially those nearby junceylon mall, cox the cost of taking grab and tuk tuk is very expensive. Tiger hotel, sira grande, expat hotel patong center, bauman residence (2 bedroom), hemingway silk, patong hemingway hotel, Pimnara Boutique Hotel.

If you are planning to stay along the soi sansabai , those hotels located in that area, might be quite noisy until the midnight.

Thanks for replying. I prefer room that come with 2 double or 4 single beds with bathtub that near junceylon. Look like i dun hv much choices other than the Latern Resort, hope that the noise level is bearable at midnight.

Transportation is definitely more expensive than Bangkok even if u take their smart bus.

Phuket is a place for people who like beach activities. I will be going this Thursday again and will be my 4th times. This time round will stay in Kata Beach away from Patong for a much quiet place to relax.

If u had license, definitely rent a car or bike is much cheaper.

Phuket is getting better now, compared to few years back ...
Their international airport is only few years old ...
Last time, they airport is not as grand as now ...
seems smaller and older ...

Now, there are more hotels around junceylon mall area.
However, central festival area still not much hotels choice ...
Perhaps they would look into building more hotels in that area and develop that area into the 2nd junceylon mall ...

Personally prefer to shop around central festival phuket, compared to junceylon mall. The main highlight to junceylon mall perhaps is their Big c extra, whereby it is always congested within tourists from the mainland, buying snacks and fruits back to their hometown. Central festival malls are grand and bigger. But the mall is far from junceylon mall ...

have walk around that street of road before, is kinda noisy from evening onwards ... disco music etc ... not sure at night, cox didnt walk around that area.

perhaps u can request higher floor, rooms not facing the noisy area.

according to their website:
11 units of Luxury 2 Bedrooms consist of Two Enlarge Bedrooms with Two Bathrooms and a Living room connected.
Room size is 90m2

Quad room:
A Lovely Style with Modern Design and Full Toiletries. Value for Money with Luxurious Amenities.
Stay 4 Persons
Room size 44 Square Meters

I am currently in Kata and if u prefer main activities, the best is still stay in Patong area because u have everything there.

Transportation from Patong to other area is not really a big problem. Just plan and take their smart bus ranging from 50B to 170B depending on where u wanted to go but they are some isolated area u still need to take a car.

Below is their Smart Bus Realtime info which I find it useful

I like Amata Patong Resort. It's walking distance to almost anywhere in Patong main activities area and the good thing about this hotel is it inside the lane away from the noise outside.
