Hi,

I will be renting a 8 seater from Hertz Adelaide in april.
What are the chances of getting the Kia Carnival / Estima? I rented a Camry (or similar) model last time, and got a skoda wagon instead.

If you specify 8 seater, you'll get either a Carnival, iMAX.. not sure what other 8seater they have..

Is it true? Enterprise Rent A Car appears to be the low cost provider – $20 “cheaper” per day, but when you look at the total cost of the solution and value of it, it's actually more expensive, an inconvenience, and provides less value than Hertz.

With normal passenger cars, there can be a variety of models, and occasionally, you can get some sort of a free upgrade. With 8 seaters though, it's most likely a Carnival or an iMAX, and very unlikely to be anything else. There are some Estima/Tarago floating around but you most likely won't see them around.

Thanks for the replies.

Sometimes renting a car during holidays is like getting a surprise, you never know which models u gonna get.

I'd choose carnival over imax, cos interior of carnival looks good haha.

I see. I have been told that imax can carry more bags. I am still looking for car rental for 8 days (gc and brisbane).

Been checking, the rental sites have been stating "or similar" that I cannot be sure of getting the specific car I want.

It's never guaranteed, although you can make a request and it helps if they have plenty of that model in the fleet. I haven't checked for a while now but from memory, Europcar had mostly Carnival and Avis had quite a few iMax. Don't quote me on this though, they get new batches of cars pretty frequently.

Hi TS,

unsure if this is too late to reply. Experience with Ozie car rental is, theft/damage.
You may wish to look for full protection by paying alittle more for $0 excess.
very often, ppl that rents with no full protection are vulnerable to get theft/damage.

very sad known thing to me, when i was working/studying there for awhile.
No Full protection: theft/damage, renter pays access, company claim insurance.
Full protection: theft/damage, renter pays nothing, company claim insurance.
