If that’s the case then invest in a better one like lifestyle V+ then.
However office lens has different types, some allowing you to see even further than just computer distance. 1,2,4 metres. It can be adjusted to those distances.
For hoya as Long as you get transitions/sensity, auto will have free blue control added in. Its their perks.

what will be the cost range look like.

If using essilor, what type should I look at?

Sync 3 is an antifatigue lens with lower half of lens having a reduced power of your choice. 3 choices +1.32D being the highest. More than zeiss digital lenses too. Comes with blue control and you can opt out.

Nulux EP is a customised single vision that factors in frame vertex distance, frame wrap, panto tilt and other details.

What’s the difference between the Hoya Sync III versus the Nulux EP?

...with lower half of lens having a reduced power of your choice...

Will the different “zones” have a sudden change in power? Wait a minute, doesn’t that make the Sync III a bifocal?

... that factors in frame vertex distance, frame wrap, panto tilt and other details.

& the Sync-III doesn’t factor for these?

For the first half of your question, yes it progressively reduces thus like a mini progressive instead of bifocals.

Second half, nope. Usually I order their default parameter lenses with no issues.😃

Any affordable progressive lens to recommend?

Since such lens have multi degrees, will it require a longer time to get the lens ready?

What’s your budget range and your prescription?
It will take about a week to be ready usually.

Finally looking to replace my current Mykitas after 6 years of use. Anyone here can guide me through the current range of Hoya single vision offerings? Sort of recall I went for 1.6 with HVLL specifically due to low Abbe value. Wanna know if their personalised lenses (Nulux V?) are worth it.

Nulux V+ is a really good lens though I personally feel that nulux EP is good enough.

Hmm from about 380 onwards you can find a progressive. If you want smth better you can prepare about 550.

Hi, I got quoted $280 for a Tokai Single Vision lens (1.67) with blue light protection. I can't remember the exact model now but I was told it is better than Pentax Inc and Hoya Stellify? Is it true that Tokai is better?

Sorry to ask this as I am quite noob about the different brands.

Hi! I would say it’s surely better than Pentax and probably slightly better than stellify.

Hi bro,
A pair of 1.50 index progressive lens with basic design starts from $180.

Depending on your needs , you can also choose to top up & have Add-ons like:
  • Thinner lenses
  • Wider Angle lenses
  • Colour changing lenses (E.g. Transitions, Photochromic)
  • HEV Light (Blue) Filter (E.g. Asahi-Lite UV3G, Tokai Lutina)

1.8 and 1.9 is for glass. Progressives likely 1.74 though I might rmb that tokai got 1.76 but not sure if it’s for progressives or SV.

Depends if you want plastic or glass lens and what is the size of the frame you are going for too.

Hi all,

what is the highest index can progressive lens go?
1.74? 1.80?

for -14.00 deg
