I am not expecting a sub date at any price. Read gaoling said $1-2k more price tag so asking where that's all.

Now I know no one Is gonna sell at that price.
like everyone also wants a sub date at 14k.

but nobody is gonna sell at that price.

even a used mint condition for 1-2yrs at also quite hard to find.

Now grey market price for popular stuff - min value on average for brand new
These can be found in carousell from non shop sellers.
U want go for shops, standby to pay abit more cause they have to pay for rent and other overhead cost.
Sub date - 15k
Sub no date - 12.8-13k
Hulk - $20.5k
Gmt batman jubilee - $19k
Gmt Pepsi - $23.5
Red Sea-Dweller 18k
James Cameron - 19.8-20k
Daytona white - 32k
Daytona black - 29-30k
Explorer 2 Polar - 12.8-13.2k
Explorer 2 black - 12.7-13k
Explorer - 9.2-9.5k
Rootbeer - 23.8-24.2k

Local AD and overseas AD no difference.
Don't be dumb and pay premium for local AD over overseas AD.
They all are distributed by rolex themselves.

All have warranty for 5 years by rolex.

India AD is just as good as SG ad.

Explorer is still a good buy at 9plus, only slightly more than RRP.

Is it advisable to buy Rolex, PP, etc hoping to earn a few % over the years? Will price appreciate over the years?

Don't depend your life on it.

But that's the general trend for the steel sports models, even through financial crisis situations. But it's not a short game. Buying a BNIB Daytona now at $30k, you won't see returns any time soon. Maybe a decade or more later, you can see some meaningful increase.

Having said that, I bought my Explorer 2 (216570) in 2012 at less than $7k. Today, I can probably sell it for a $3k profit in a used condition. $3k increase in 8 years for a non-desirable model.

Bought my ceramic Daytona (Panda) in 2017 for mid $20's, 3 years later I can probably make $2-3k if I sell it in a used condition. $2-3k increase in 3 years for a desirable model.

But still, don't bet on it.

The virus hurts LVMH, T&C and any other luxury brands has no impact to Rolex...

May I assume the cheapest place to buy is in Swiss itself?

If you like the watch, sure. Otherwise probably better off putting your money in equities.

Think Switzerland would be one of the last places you can find a steel sports stunner at, considering all the big boys in oil & gas trading have offices there...

Actually it's the easiest to find there.
