Yup... As long as no margin call and have a roof over your head, life will go on and things will improve

This is a short term effect..... The media likes to create fear in people... Have a strategy and then execute....

I think 30-40% loss is optimistic now. I hold about 500k stock/reit which has 100k exposure to o&g industry and 500k bonds.

I am holding around 80 plus K sgd in stock market now, time for me to look for bargain buy again in this volatile market:s12:

I am doing a stress test of my portfolio.
Networth about 2 days ago: 926k
Equities: 412k
Fixed income: 515k
Equity ratio: 44.44%

A 50% drop in equities from current levels and assuming no increase in allocation will take my networth down to 721k. Ouch! This was my networth in Feb 2017. So it pushes me back by 3 years!

So to check risk tolerance, how does it feel to push yourself back by 3 years? It is like 3 years with no savings and no growth of networth. Networth stagnation for 3 years. Sounds bad, but it doesnt sound devastating.

Bro, no issue. You are already doing better than most people. Just make sure your company don't do retrenchment

Yeah, it is just stress testing. So that if and when it happens, I should know how it feels. Everyone reacts differently to their wealth erosion.

Ibkr portfolio is also back to 3 years ago, marginally profitable..LTD is now 5%. :(
Let's hope this week is the bottom and we can have another 10 years of bull cycle.
