Actually I wanted to get mate 30 nw.. Bt worried that those methods to install gms r blocked... If nt I will go buy....

If you are worried.. it is better not to buy it now.. You can buy P30 Pro, it has GMS.. :o

Just bought a P40 Pro yesterday.

Currently not working:
Singpass Mobile, Foodpanda, McDonald's App, myCPF

Can install and seems to be working:
Ez-Link, Citibank SG, DBS digibank, Grab - Not tried Scan to Pay: GrabPay, Fave, UOB Singapore, WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Singtel Dash - yet to use as payment, SBS Transit, SP Utilities, AXS Payment, Instagram, Google Calendar - No Notification on event
Gmail - No Notification when received new emails

Installed GMS on stock firmware & upgraded firmware to 122. Everything still working.

I didn't update inbuilt AppGallery/Huawei internal apps in case might clash with GMS.

Tried to sideload GMS from few YT sources but failed.
Anyone has a reliable source for sideloading GMS?

The bros here is asking to decoupled from apps that don’t work without gms and just use apps and change your lifestyle for a phone

Freedom from Google is a lifestyle choice. You can stay with your precious GMS if you like it so much. I am so happy to move all my data to Yandex. :D

Not everyone can live without Gms. There r some apps that make use of Google framework.

Eg singpass, tracetogether.

For those doing grabfood n driving phv, grab driver app is not supported on huawei store yet.

Haha that’s why I kept coming back into this thread is becos ppl like you, so you are asking those depending on grab app for grab delivery to earn money to stop working until there is a work around?

If you say (like the other bro previously) just advise the bro hms not suitable for Mission critical work phone yet, I won’t comment further.

Well we just have to find ways to work around it.

Can only get this phone if you don mind all the shortcoming without GMS.

Using the P40Pro for about 3 weeks already.
For me I can still live with it.
Just that when using Grab app, you wont be able to see the map.
Singpass app is not available for use as of current.
When accessing games/apps, will always prompt google service is not available. But still can use the app after cancelling that notification.

Great attitude! Better than someone keeps whining in here about the missing GMS..

Maybe GovTech are still scratching their heads about HMS? Or sitting on the a** doing nothing. LOL.

For the 2nd part I agree with you, but for ppl who need to use Singpass to log into gov websites to check or apply permits as park of work, or for work that require contact tracing or grab food grab Drivers all these are work related.

Hence as I said many time’s I am not against hms in fact I want hms to succeed what I don’t want is obviously a bro is asking a work phone related issue and concerns before buying don’t downplay the disadvantage of the current hms situation.

Tell them straight in the face come back again in 1/2 year to 1 years time to use hms for work, but will be great to try for casual no Mission critical phone.

Again I am not against hms only against the bro downplaying when a really newbie or not savvy person asking for opinion and and j can tell you as a newbie they will literally take your advise and get the phone and in the end cannot work you will tell him he is stupid not your fault dude

Great attitude! Better than someone keeps whining in here about the missing GMS..

If anyone said, google services has spyware, to be fair huawei or xiaomi also have.

But still, gotta admit that huawei has better specs for hardware than samsung.

I also hope that the HMS is getting better and better. We have three Huawei phones (P20, Nova 5T and Nova 3i) at home. I will look at Huawei phones again in Dec 2021 when my contract is due for renewal. Maybe Huawei phones will have GMS at that time, or maybe HMS is already pretty good for my use cases at that time.

On the other hand, I have bought Huawei MediaPad M5 Lite China version without GMS to play with. For my intended usage (Chinese media consumption) of the tablet it is pretty fine. I am also experimenting with some apps to see if they work without GMS.

Not so sure you mean by Spyware. Anyway, international version of Oppo/Vivo phones, Huawei Phones and Xiaomi phones have less bloatware compared to the China version.

Oppo/Vivo phones, Huawei Phones are better than Xiaomi in one aspect -less advertising.

As for Samsung, I already gave up on Samsung after using Galaxy S3 and S4 in 2013-2015.
