Can I clarify my understanding;
This main coax cable in pic below is found in SCV riser outside the house?
Each black cable goes to different household on that level?

The black cable will lead to this main splitter found in the house, which is the middle cable that the port indicated "IN" in pic below.
The other 4 cables lead to out to 4 other outlets in various rooms?

I can just disconnect this "IN" cable, leaving the rest of cable intact and resolve the signal outflow issue?

Where can I locate this splitter in my house?
It is not in my electrical distribution box or the riser it is in.
It is not visible where my intended TV is (only cable TV wall socket seen).

you can DC the in cable but best to put a termination cap on.

you may be right that the first picture is the splitter going to different house unit and the second picture is the splitter going to different rooms, which is usually hidden somewhere.... it could be in the scv box in your living room

it’s hard to map out the coaxial diagram for house without exposing what is behind the coaxial port. since your unit is 2006 Top condo, there might be a chance that you are able to access the main splitter

Hi, great discussion thread here.

I have blind spots in house and is interested in setting up this MoCa setup.

I'm stuck at step 1; locating the main splitter.
My SVC riser is locked.
Cannot access main splitter to disconnect cable or install PoE.
Neither am I a starhub service subscriber.
Have read someone post that Starhub will not help with installation even if we r willing to pay for service.

1) For those with SVC risers locked, how did u get around the PoE / incoming cable disconnect problem?

2) Read some post mention the main splitter is inside house. May I know where likely it will be? I'm staying in a condo TOP 2006.

Using Moca adapters bought from one of the poster here. Did not managed to locate the incoming connectors to disconnect/place POE. Using the MOCA adapters/network as it is. Hopefully, no immediate neighbours using MOCA too.

I believe in my current situation, the least I could do is to password protect my network which until now I'm unable to do so as I have no idea how to access the MOCA adapter Admin page.

Any users able to access the Admin page, pls do share how to go about it. Thanks.

May I enquire the purpose of the termination cap?
I'm unable to locate the SCV box in my living room.
Logically speaking, it should be in the same space as the electrical distribution box, but couldn't find it there.
Noted the new HDB design all have it in the same riser as the E.Distribution Box.

Yes, my concern is also network security.
Do share if u manage to find way to address the issue via MoCa admin page.

Wondering if there is a difference in coax layout. May I enquire if u r staying in condo or HDB?

Can u share what MoCa set u r using and the up / down load speed u r getting?

It seems that only MoCA 2.5 can support encryption and WPS. I downloaded their manual and indeed there's a way to set password for the encryption.

Amazon SG is selling the goCoax 2.5 Ethernet adapter for S$86.23 per set (exclude delivery fees of S$9.60). The package doesn't come with any coaxial cable and termination.

Just placed an order for goCoax and waiting for it's arrival. Maybe next month can share any finding.

Compared with homeplug, not as neat.

Separate power adapter and converter. Hard to find short RG6 coaxial cable off the shelf to avoid messy long cable. So far, shortest I can find is 1.5ft (~45cm).

I got it directly from goCoax since Amazon left 1 unit which I need a pair.

In terms of price, same but goCoax shipping more ex at USD22 to Singapore.

I have a pair of goCoax MoCA 2.5 adaptors. How do I access the adaptor's setup/config web pages? I read that the address is 192.168.254.254 but I can't access that page.

Have anyone mix ActionTec ECB6000 (not the latest model) with the goCoax adaptors?

Base on my own experience about 60mbps~80mbps.

110mbps~160mbps when using Sineoji 1800mbps homeplug.

I have 4 D-Link AV2000 DHP-701AV (with AC passthrough) units and the typical speed is up to 100Mbps (master room) to 200Mbps (common room), but I am using extension cord for all the units which is not ideal. I bought it from Challenger during offer time at S$69 per pair a few years ago. The one without AC pass through was at S$59 per pair.

It is said the speed can be up to 400Mbps as per a CNet 2015 review but it all depends your power network at home and YMMV on Power Line.

TP-Link AV2000 class power adapter may be a bit better than my one. They have two Gigabit Ethernet ports.

getting roughly same test speed as yours with Aztech home plugs and M1 500Mbps plan.
