my MR lite line that i requested to terminate on the last day of the current life cycle which is on 15 June 2020, few hours back suddenly showed no service.

WTF. dun know if it is the stoopig CSO who handled my termination request had made a mistake which she terminated the line even before the actual termination date requested.
Oh no.. 🤒🤧🥵

since this is not on contract, how do one locked in the price?

what if 2 months later they increase the price to $20?

Lol :s22: StarHub also got no contract, circle life also no contract SIM only plan. What if they increase price :s13: Don’t worry so much, it’s no contract why scare, can port out anytime.

No telco ever increase price for any no contract plan that in service. Chill

Oh no..

As long as I can receive OTP almost immediately for some transactions, I’m fine. Last time with StarHub, the OTP never came. Everything else quite secondary to me. Not sure why today got a lot of ah long spam SMSes.

Telcos damn irritating. In the past, I wanted to terminate, they insisted to terminate immediately when I called in. I told them I wanted to terminate at a specific date, they told me to call back later. :s22:

seems like it is a system problem at myRepublic side on the sim card that is using the unlimited data at throttled speed.

my first MR Lite card was already on throttled speed long time back since the 6G had been used up long time ago. yesterday night suddenly it went no service. then i use the other MR lite card that still have balance data from the 6GB, no issue, got service, then once it hit 100% of the 6GB usage, straightaway it went no service again. only until just now the service is back again.

strange.

yeah. most telcos cannot set termination date.
somemore myrepublic allows that. not bad actually. so one can fully utilise the line until it is terminated.

Toh how like that

i am disposing the number since I already got much much nicer number from GiGa.

I had submitted the termination request for line to be terminated on 15 June 2020.

I tot you also got better number from GiGa? if this is not your main line, maybe best to dispose it to avoid the hassle of sourcing out for solutions.

If I start on 5Jun, the first billing is when ?

5 June. The bill will be out (or already). Can check on the MR website already.
ur billing cycle will be 5 June to 4 July.

Yeah probably cancelling it once finished the data and all. Emailed giga no use. Tried to port it to myrepublic, can't port cos I can't use otp.

I received my first billing within few days of receiving the sim card but that's for the first month

I am actually kinda blur..

is this considered pre-paid? cos also no refund if you terminate before next billing..

Sign up a MyRepublic plan first then submit the port-in request later via the form. This can bypass the OTP verification of port-in number during the sign up process online.

It is not difficult to understand.

All postpaid subscription the fee for ur monthly plan is always charged in advantage, only for those excess data, talktime etc usage are only the one just charged later.

Only different is MyRepublic billing cycle start date is the same as activation date. So if first bill is exact one month from now to one month later.

During this period before the next start date, you can cancel anytime. you dun get charge another one month.

What form. Hardcopy or soft copy?

soft copy form. this is for delayed port-in of existing users.
when sign up a new line, just dun indicate port-in needed and submit a delayed port-in request.

after fill in the form, just email to them with supporting documents. in the next working day, it will be processed and at the day of process 11am, old line will be cut, porting over to myrepublic will happen at 12am exact.

I have completed porting UNO to Lite plan and this is the timeline of events.

7-May-2020: Signed up for Giga ($10) plan to port UNO number
8-May-2020: Received Giga SIM and the porting is complete.
12-May - 2020- Signed up for MyRepublic Lite plan to port the same number
6-Jun-2020- Received Lite SIM and the porting is complete.

This is a round about process, but nonetheless worked out for me as I have timed it correctly.

Very bad to use Giga as a temporary bridge to migrate over and abandon Giga due to Myrepublic incompetence.
