Audio engine is better at details and separation while s2000 pro mk2 for me is better at vocals... well but nowadays I use speakers to watch movies nia so no need too high end. Wa but now the s2000 mk2 on qoo10 sell 399 with free stands. Not sure if should get that to save money..

Same, from reviews I much prefer Swans (m300), but if s2000 is at 399 with stands a bit hard to beat in price.

It's S2000 Pro not MKIII

If mostly used in living room, Swans or Edifier will be better? I read some review Edifier works better for desktop monitors as the sound is projected closer and Swans projects further, is this consistent from your review?

If the sound feels like it's coming "further" the person probably has phase issues from sitting too close

Which one will have a better soundstage? Unfortunately we can't test it out together as no one has both speakers in store...

Am I right to say that S2000MKIII has the best performance to price ratio for Edifier line of products? Performance wise better than S2000, S2000 Pro, S2000 MKII, and price to performance better than S3000 and S3000 Pro as it is cheaper?

Different audiophiles have different definition of what sound stage is...

Hard to compare with past products since newer models are intended to replace older models at the same price, while older models get cleared. OTOH if you bought the older model at the launch price you have already enjoyed the product during the time frame so consider it as paying for the enjoyment.

If the MKII (or its other variants like Pro) and MKIII are at the same price I would get MKIII.

S3000 is pretty much the same thing as S2000MKIII except one size bigger, so the usual pros/cons of bigger size applies here. On the desktop, S2000MKIII sounded better while being easier to position. With longer listening distances, S3000 is better.

Is S2000 MKIII worth the upgrade over R2000DB for use in 3rm hdb living room?
Cost is about double.

Living room needs bigger speakers, if you have $600 then these are better

Rokit G4 gets mentioned because it comes with adjustable EQ

There's also this if you want something less visually obnoxious than a pair of 8" speakers

Wah the krk rokit 7 g4 is half price of JBL. Is JBL still worth the upgrade in terms of sound quality? Thanks for your help.

Wish I was rich enough for it to not matter heheh. My rich friend got the Genelec 8341a at about $7.5k. Ouch.
