Tried to use Spree credit card just now at SingPost but was told cannot use Visa nor Mastercard now. What happened?

Haha maybe SingPost's payment gateway is Wirecard.
That company went from a highly valuable blue chip company just a couple weeks ago, to bankrupt now.

PSA: This card will no longer give you 2.0% cashback for SimplyGo transactions (BUS/MRT *).
This was not explicitly mentioned in any part of the T&C.

But I just confirmed this with the CSO:

Simplygo is different from transitlink

Based on my limited experience with other cards, transitlink has been excluded for the longest time however simply go still get rebates bcoz transitlink is considered topping up a wallet whereas simply go is a typical credit card transaction.

I don't think SimplyGo is excluded.
SimplyGo transactions post as BUS/MRT.. not Transitlink*

I dont think simplygo is excluded. But if you still want an alternative card, go for HSBC advance and apply for a HSBC advance account also. You get 2.5% cashback. I got supplementary HSBC advance card for my wife also. So both combined spend earns 2.5%.

The bonussaver link was the exact link the CSO provided me with. Point 2 on the page mentioned changes to credit card T&C but did not mention SimplyGo anywhere. I'm equally confused too.
I have asked SCB to provide me with the exact clause which excludes SimplyGO, still pending their reply.

For some context:
I've checked my June 2020 credit card statement. Although SimplyGo transactions are counted in the "This month's total eligible retail spends" amount, the cashback amount did not tally with my own calculations.
Only after removing SimplyGo transactions, did the cashback amount finally tally. That prompted me to email in to check with SCB.

This is the excel formula I used to calculate the Spree cashback, as described in their T&C:
"=ROUNDDOWN((<amount/cell>*0.02),2)"
The cashback is calculated for each individual transaction then summed up, not a simple 2% on the total amount of the statement cycle.

not sure about SimplyGo now.
btw last year top up at GTM gets 1%, now no more i think. Nowadays my spree cashback doesn't tally by some odd numbers, less than a dollar so i didnt bother to call.
