From 1.80% (p.a.) to 1.10% (p.a.)

On 25k in multiplier,

It’d be better to sign up Cancercare and go to
1.80% (p.a.) and I can put 50k right?

Can I check for Cancercare it’d only be counted as 1 year for 2nd category?
And after 1 year can cancel?

I dont think Fast is an ideal way to pay salaries. My limited understanding is that the accounts people (ie non HR), will be able to see the FAST amounts in the bank statement, versus giro payment.

If really so, I think you should see if you can lobby HR to change again.

But for my case, when I chose Fast salary to pay to BOC, I selected salary category, and it was reflected in salary for my BOC Smartsaver.

Use the calculator on dbs website (when they update with the new interest rate) to see how much additional interest u get with getting an additional category and see if that outweighs the cost of the insurance.

Why don’t do an RSP?

Yes counts for 1 year and can cancel anytime.

The salary category was also chosen for fast mode for dbs multiplier as well. Descr has SALA and there is also further descr to state which month of salary. Yes however to play safe, yes i am asking my company to change back to giro.

Did you manage to get the interest for boc smartsaver for fast mode? The tnc indicated must be giro mode too.

Actually as long as the transaction code categories as SAL or PAY in your savings account is considered as Salary, doesn’t matter FAST or Giro to bank in.

Yes, i got the interest for BOC Smartsaver. There was a problem crediting to my BOC account. BOC bank acct has too many digits apparently, for my bank OCBC to process. Need to cut off the first 4 digits of BOC acct. So my giro salary did not go through.

I got the boss to approve my salary via FAST (using sala category) and got the BOC interest subsequently.
