I just went yesterday to see a dentist for a very bad toothache. From what I was told they go like together, root canal then they will put crown for protection. Havent went to the procedure yet, looking for affordable dental clinic

Yeah, I saw an endodontist yesterday. If you want cheaper rate for root canal, you can ask general Dentist to do if not complex case. For crown, it depends on the type of material and if they have in-house lab. U should go nearby clinics and look at their price lists first.

dr sim from simply endodontics... he is an endodontist. so he is slightly more expensive then normal dentist...imho.. it is important to find a good endodontist to treat your root canal... you want to do it once and do it good.. if not have to re-root canal. waste alot of time and money...

antibiotics will help with the inflammation but will not solved the problem:(

Did my pre-molar root canal 1 year ago. RC is $550, The crown costs $950, but I am still considering if I want to do the crown.

The crown is to protect the RC tooth from breaking or chipping. If the RC tooth is damaged again, then there may be no way to save the tooth again.

I will do the crown eventually (after saving enough) since it going to last a long time in my life.

So far have been careful in biting on the RC tooth. So far ok. Price for RC should be around there ($500-$700) per tooth.

Mine is molar tooth. Got referral from Unitycare to an external endodontist and was quoted $1150. Mine is feeling pain when biting but endodontist said she cannot see how deep is crackline if never do RC.

Planning to go book at unity denticare harbourfront/clementi because as per website: Root Canal Treatment $400.00 – $780.00. Mine is also molar tooth, from behind the third one (size is like premolar). My first visit is actually on Q&M, initially was told 400-700, then come dentist said cannot do, but can refer to one their outlets for their specialist (could double and reach 1200 and up). Today also, called some neighborhood clinics to inquire cost, then some shared that if doctor cannot do they will refer to specialist. Hearing your case, so now having a feeling that if molar they will only refer to specialist.. here i am hoping I could get a gp doctor as i really on budget. Mind to share which unity denticare outlet you went?

AmkHub. They told me no more RC specialist in Unitycare. Not sure if they referring to AmkHub only but doubt so la. Suggest you call up any of the branches and ask first. Or walk around your neighbourhood clinics and ask directly. Read up before.. q&m have RC specialists at city sq, Novena, ctrpt branches.. some of them are specialists with their own clinics but like “seconded” there for their services.

RC charges by roots, hopefully u have only one root inside your tooth then it will be cheaper:s12:
crowning wise the cheapest i found was trust dental at jurong quoted me $800 for pfm crown.
you check with your dentist, tell them u do RC and crowning with them, got discount/package or not. maybe can get better deal. just try only, nothing to lose:o

Sometimes good to do a full xray and get 2nd opinion. Went to the eunos mrt dental the dentist told me need root canal and crown. Then went national dental centre for 2nd opinion and end up just need to do filling. Now no major issues.

I done once on 1 molar bottom.
Tooth chipped due to decay.
Did filling.
Can Tahan for very Long.
But don’t chew on hard food like nuts.
But one day the gum got sensation.
So except painkillers nothing much can do.
Thus go for root canal.
Problem is the sensation comes back after few years later.
Dunno why since the nerves are killed.
I feel just go for implant if you dun mind pull tooth.

Just to share. Unity denticare indeed no more rc specialist, likely to refer if molar tooth what they say when I called. I ended up doing mine at B9 Dental, only 500 rc, 25 xray. Next month I come back, 150 core treatment. Crown quote around 700 to 900. So far all ok

Yeah if want to let endodontist perform RC, at least $1200 and more experienced one maybe $1800. Tomorrow I go make mouthguard first cos all dentists told me cracked tooth is due to grinding. Still deciding if to do crowning and if still pain, then do RC and crowning.
