No idea about what you are talking about. You are mixing up WAN side and LAN side.

Whether you are using ONR or ONT, and no matter which ISP or which internet plan (be it 500Mbps or 1Gbps, 2Gbps or 10Gbps), you can have a sub network with 10Gbps or 5Gbps or 2.5Gbps within the home network.

Read the thread here about 10Gbps home network as well.
https://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/...r-hdb-home-network-10gbe-project-6341518.html

Dont forget router also has LAN port support. Even with WiFi connection, some router already exceed 1Gbps in term of speed. I do not think he means access to WAN at 2.5G speed, with within the router network.

Anyway, without a supported router or switch. You ended up with 1 to 1 connection anyway. So is quite meaningless for 2.5G.

Upcoming 2.5Gbps switch from QNAP. This has been posted early in this thread.

The idea is a fast sub network with a few devices only, say one desktop, one laptop and one NAS, with 2.5Gbps link among them. Link to the other home network will still be 1Gbps.

Upcoming QNAP 2.5Gbps switch

Good share dude. The Xiaomi ax3600 too bad don’t support above 1gbps. Else wifi6 with this combo would be perfect

Price is US$109.

And I did not read properly. It is not in stock until November 20, and not shipped to Singapore. But you can always try alternative ways to buy it when it is available.

The SFP+ ports are 10Gbps rated. You need to buy the SFP+ modules in order to use it. I believe it should be compatible with 2.5G/5G as well but better use the TP-Link SFP+ module.

The SFP+ ports are advertised as the uplink for the four 2.5G ports. If you do not have any 10G gear, just leave them open for future upgrade.

Try use Taobao app to see if that works if the web interface got problem.

Used both app n website and 2 diff cards both failed. 😔
10G is for future proofing when upgrade NAS. Currently the 2.5G ports r sufficient.

I see. That is strange. Are you only having problem with this shop or other shops? If only this shop, there are other shops selling as well. You can try other shops.

BTW, I read from the comments that both TP-Link and MikroTik SFP+ copper modules are compatible based on the feedbacks. But no need to use the SFP+ ports now that you do not need 10G.

Nice finding.
Zyxel 12-Port Gigabit Smart Managed Multi-Gig Switch. 2 x Copper 2.5G Ports, 2 x 1/10G SFP+ Ports [XGS1210-12]

S$245.88 but only two 2.5G copper ports.

There are more options but the price goes up sharply.

This one has 8 2.5G ports

Mikrotik 10Gbps capable switch with SFP+ ports are not so expensive, however adding the SFP+ copper modules to be compatible with 2.5G/5G/10G Ethernet is not cheap. But it is another option which is more future proof.

Ref: switch at S$228 with 4 SFP+ ports

But the SFP+ copper module is at S$108 each.

any routers around $300 range with 2.5g lan port??

None as far as I know.

Asus RT-AX86U is the closer one with one 2.5Gbe port which can act as WAN or LAN port. It is now selling at S$17*24month=S$408 exclusive to SingTel customers. But you can get from overseas at around S$300 without local warranty.

But if ask for more 2.5Gbe ports, then only the few switch models mentioned above are known to me which are below S$300. They are not routers.

Edit to add: the following can be a router but you need to add copper SFP+ modules which will make the price higher than S$300.
