hmm. maybe off topic, anyway just to share, hardware are good but often very expensive.
sometimes using software tweaks might help enhance your listening pleasure
lets start by saying that I listen mainly to tight bass stuff. (Trance, Jazz, Rock, New Age) and clarity is important too (Vocal tracks, acoustic singing)
Anyway, I must say to have a Aego 2 is one of the best spending that last for a couple of years. but the MDF gave way due to the humid weather.
Back then I was using a vst plugin from audioware db (free back then as beta tester, till now am still using for free lol), a plugin to tune my audio.. is more on gain then to tweak bass and such. It uplift most audio as you can hear on most mp3s.
MP3s have different sampling rates as some are high and some are low, which often you will need to tune up and down the volume knobs.
Even with those EQ build in on some players. it does not sound as good as the vst I had.
Well just an illustration, ever wonder why FM module always sound so good when you have good network or frequency connection?
every tracks they played are always smoothing.. equal peak, good bass, ampere treble and etc.
Well nothing new as they make use of this.
https://www.orban.com/optimodfm-8700i (AGC - Audio Gain Controllers) and of course ridiculous to buy one unless you are insane. I ended up using this .vst
my combo .vst includes DB-Dynamic Processor, DB-Multiband Limiter & DB-Master Limiter, the illustration is just the multiband limiter which does most of the job.

btw this .vst is also good for those streamers with budget microphones.
anyway I have use this .vst plugin on my app player which allows to add this plugin.
I don't have to touch my volume knobs as every track will pass through this AGC which has the auto gain function.
now on the speaker side. as I mentioned. Aego 2 is a rock solid speaker all rounder but sad to say it's MDF gave way. I ended up to use my old Mission 780i Speakers but it needs a amplifier to drive these speakers.
I wanted it simple and got this speaker instead, the Presonus Eris E3.5. It might be on the budget side and might not suit those who like boomy impact. these speakers are for tight bass which suits my taste.
these are the pros
1) small (easy to place)
2) good material
3) able to plug aux to the speakers in the front
4) there are gain controls behind (which I don't use)
5) Dirt Cheap (to me that is)
Bonus pro
1) If you are a gamer who plays lots of first person shooter (like my nephew) you will love it.. you can just hear where the enemies are coming from and to nail them before you get nailed. well at least my nephew kept using my desktop instead of his lol.
Cons
1) might not be suitable if you going for super BASS like techno tracks.
2) does not have Bluetooth (will be nice to have)
3) you need shock absorb stand to uplift the music.. (am using these)
