Proposal Ring is a Nono for me, because its a personal item even though your gf has no more feelings for ther ex..then again if she still insist on keeping that ring means she's a very materialistic person. And as a couple she should understand how the other partner would feel.

I agree with you, but we all know a 50k diamond ring is valued at 50k when bought, and only a fraction of it when sold.

That's a huge "loss" even though the ring was free to begin with

Is that the cushion hearts and arrows? Usually cushion cuts dont get Cut grades or even the Ideal (0) on AGS.
For that point, your cushion is already better than 99% of the other cushions in the market already.

You got a high color and clarity grade too. And just nice at the .9 range before the price gets exponential.
You got the scope images?

Thanks for the feedback, seems like nothing negative so far...

Sorry I don't have the scope images. But my specs provided are extracted from the cert here https://agslab.com/ym-vdgr/en-us/diamonds/104048512011/grading-report

Yup! That's the Cushion Brellia from JP. It's the best cushion cut already and it doesn't get any better than that. Cut wise, you don't need to worry since as its already the cream of the crop. The only thing else to ''improve'' on are the others Cs like the color and clarity. Though you've already picked a high spec diamond already.

cant decide between the white series decagon or round. went to have a look at both, somehow white seems to be sparkle more than decagon.

the salesperson that attended to me was saying that decagon costs more than round because after they cut the diamond to round, they still need to cut further to achieve decagon, so more precision+manpower to cut a decagon compared to round.

if white performs better than decagon, why bother to make decagon? curious to know.. unique selling factor because its decagon? hmmm

The decagon looks different in performance because of the additional double sided faceting at the top and bottom. Something to do with the virtual facets of how Paul designed it. Forgot where I read it, its somewhere on his Instagram https://www.instagram.com/jp.paulhung/

Replying to my own response.

After searching old replies, realized by measurement, 0.9 brellia looks small compared to a 0.9 round cut... :(

Cushion shapes have thicker girdles compared to round. When you compare the length and width measurements, the cushion will be smaller. But the diagonal measurements like corner to corner will be wider which makes up for it.

after 2 visits, we've finally decided to place a deposit for white series decagon which will arrive in 2 months time.

0.51-0.53 F-G VVS2-VS1 in the 4k range. as the diamond is yet to be cut, JP can only give you a range. anyone has any idea the accuracy of such range?

white series is really a cut above the rest. u wont go wrong with white series.

Congratz bro! I placed my order 3 weeks earlier than you. Will update you my results when I get mine. The estimated grading should be quite accurate but the final grade will still depend on the lab. Either way, they told me if the grading is higher than expected, they will still cap the price and will absorb the difference. If lower than expected, they will lower the price or I can choose not to take the diamond. So its a win-win for me.

I'm quite surprised they the cost isn't that much of a difference. It's almost the same price as the SIC but way more sparkly. Makes more sense to get the white series.

Hi guys, any ideas where to get non-diamond proposal rings? Specifically black onyx rings (yes she specifically want this and doesn't care much about diamonds). I won't mind black diamond rings, but it seems like this is a hard find as well? I went through some websites and saw like Glamira, but not sure if they are reputable etc?

Black like not very ''lucky'' le.
I recalled JP showing me some back diamonds before during their diamond tone/hue education. They showed me brownish hue diamonds that they avoid and the black hue diamonds being the cheapest hue. I think they mentioned 1ct black diamond cost a few hundred dollars only. But black diamonds won't have any sparkles one.

Hi bros... am new to diamonds. Looking at white series with decent specs, do you think I can get a 0.7c from JP with a 8k-10k budget?

Thanks bro! Then I guess I should arrange an appointment with the JP sales team soon.

Any idea if instalment plans are available and if it comes with interest-free?

I bought the ASET scope before but sold it off already. You can buy it from AGS directly for usd 50 here, https://www.americangemsociety.org/page/newhandheldaset

From my experience, all diamonds I saw from places that dont use the aset themselves all cmi. Cos its not even part of their steps to sell a good light returning diamond. If you're looking for a high light returning one, its like finding a needle in a haystack. Majority of the diamonds that ppl sell are the usual ''Ideal cuts'' that have light leakages or symmetry problems. That's just how the diamond masses are cut.

That's also the reason why they dont want to show the aset in the first place. For a thousand dollars plus product, you think they dont want to invest in a $50 scope to sell better? lol

I tried going your route before and bought the aset to scout. In the end, its abit of a waste of time and I eventually bought mine from JP. They're the most transparent one I came across that could prove theirs was the highest standard.
