The interviewers are aware that most of us do not have any prior legal backgrounds, as such, they would largely ask questions that tests our critical thinking skills and moral compass (this applies to both the essay test and interview). I will use an example to illustrate my point (this is purely my own opinion of how the interviewers might phrase their questions, and by no means any indication/confirmation of how the interview/essay test will be conducted).

I believe we are all aware of the recent series of sexual misconduct cases by students from a certain tertiary education institute, and the recent case of a famous influencer in Singapore.
How they might approach would be to ask:
1) Why do you think there is a rising trend of sexual misconduct by young adults?
2) How do you think we can better educate young Singaporeans about sexual consent and respect?

Other topics that I feel may also be relevant would include professional misconduct of lawyers and child abuse.

thanks for providing an example to us!! that's very helpful of you :s12:

i came to ask this question too haha. do you all know if there are multiple interviews (2 or 3) happening in 1 time slot with different interviewers?

If there are only 4 available dates for LLB and JD , ie 2 September, 9 September, 16 September and 23 September, the total number of available slots is probably between 60 to 80 slots for the 4 days combined. I recalled that the projected number of applicants is more than 200.

If the above assumption is correct, there are either 2 or 3 groups of interviewers or SUSS is conducting group interviews similar to those applicants for allied health care in other unis.

No mention that there will be a second round of interviews.

This coronavirus has affected how unis conduct screening and interviews

I highly doubt that there would be group interviews given that the merits of each application are different having regard to their personal statement...in fact there is no indication from the e-mail that suggests it being a group interview.

i counted 14 slots for one of the days. if it isn't missing any slot then it would be 56 for all four weeks. right now there are still slots available.

wa i don't remember reading concurrent interviews running from past threads.

someone said most applicants will receive an interview so long as the minimum requirements are met right?

Unless they break the panel into smaller teams in order to go concurrent. Otherwise it means there are lesser applicants compared to previous years.

I also had the feeling that as a result of the pandemic this year, there may be fewer applicants over the affordability of tuition fees among working adults~

15 mins per slot x 8 hours is about 32 slots (if they go without lunch heh)

32 x 4 = 128

So if there are no other dates for the panel int and 1 applicant per time slot...there may be not more than 128 applicants.

I may be wrong tho.

Hello everyone. I emailed the school to ask since I brought this topic up.

- 15 mins is the amount of time they allocated per interview. May vary.
- 3 interviews running concurrently for any slot
- pls login slightly earlier because they might be able to start urs earlier

Hi hi. I am also applying to SUSS Law programme for Jan 2021 intake.

Can I ask if anyone who is also applying to the same programme is also applying for mid-career enhanced subsidy? Or intention to apply to MinLaw-SUSS sponsorship? Or planning to self-fund entirely? Or be under current company sponsorship?

Just a curious asking.
