Yea I was wondering that also.

3090 seems like the Titan if I infer from the event.

He was talking about the Titan before he showed the 3090.

Also 3080 is the flagship so it makes further sense.

In that case 3090 is not so worth liao considering there will surely be a 3080ti.

Yup! Though cheaper than Titans have been

It probably is. Still keeping my wallet close for now. Wait until Big Navi comes out and Nvidia chut the 3080ti then i will get it. I assume there needs to be some "bridge" between the 3080 vram 10gb and 3090 vram 24gb.

Unbelievable price for 24GB DDR6 3090.... even if i factor in markup, GST, exchange rate.... its' still a bargain! cannot believe my eye... maybe an entry level 3090@8GB ?

Its the chip process got better yield. The 3 series gpu is from samsung, not TMSC.

8nm tech from samsung, under R&D for pass 3yrs... with over >100b investment from korea state invesment corps.... die die korean want the deal... that's why u can buy Ampere 3000 @50% discount from 2080ti....

TSMC move to 5nm for Ryzen 5000s. Time to swipe cc :s13:

Going for 3090 and gonna stay out of Nvidia news until next architecture so wont kena poisoned again. I just wish 3080Ti wont obsolete the 3090 and no 3090Ti in next year pipeline lol.

Pretty sure there is a gap reserved for 3080ti and 3070 Super. 3080 Super seems unlikely.

For now, I think if you're playing MS Flight SIM, this would be a great card to get. Most other games plays fine on the majority of 2000 series and the 2080 Ti still is plenty fast. When Battlefield 6 comes out next year is when these new 3000 series cards will really shine, especially the higher end ones. Right now, there isn't any fantastic game titles worth playing that warrants such power other than MS Flight SIM.

If it was the 1080ti kind of Ti performance gain over 1080 that made Titan X look not value for $, then I guess I will feel abit bad for buying the 3090.

But then again, I had assumed the 3090 was the 80 equivalent and was prepared to get a 3090ti. So might as well just get 3090 and be done with it.

Now just thinking whether to hoot asap or wait for 3090 benchmarks. From 3080 benchmarks over 2080 I have seen 70% to 90% increases so far. Wonder how 3090 fairs.

Yes, normally i will not swipe my CC until see it with out own eyes.... (least u will recommend others to do so).... but base on what they have shown we are in for one hack of a ride, ampere is a monster GPU w 28b transistor, its a big leap from turin 13.6b, and translate to >2x performance improvements.

All the 3000 series is 1 step above the top 2000 series (no overlap). The last time this happens was 2004, when 6600GT launch blows all the FX cards away. Imagine a 3070 which cost only half of 2080Ti with 2x increased performance.... that's a very compelling selling point.
I don't think anyone needs convincing for the rtx 3000 series, I'll probably wait for the benchmarks to see if the $300 upgrade to the 3080 (from 3070) is worth it if I'm just planning to game at 1440p

Not everyone is like you who can embrace new things like a tech hopping bunny... U will be surprised how many turtles still argue with me over a 1660s for next 3yrs.... even when the tsunami of affordable Ampere 3000 cards is right infront of our face....

Rtx 3080 seems like the next mid tier priced card that everyone is getting. Decent specs for below 2k price. Gonna upgrade but not sure if possible to find 1 on day 1.

It won't be much difference from Ryzen 3900 launch, no sign of it on the shelves, all grab by pre-orders for the first 3 months.... Just US market alone will suck dry all the global supply on day 1. Not barring any show stoppers (e.g,wars), or natural disasters or technical glitches.
