my standard not high so im sure either will be good enough for me. :s13:

For Klipsch Promedia, as you said earlier due to the power issue I can't use the set from US without modification, so will have to buy locally. I like how the set isn't that big and bulky, but just don't like how much the price got marked up.

Edifier350db, only thing stopping me is the size, I could probably fit it on my table with the sub on the floor, but just hope it's 10% smaller.

Sorry just organising my thoughts here.

True the Edifier needs bigger space than the Klipsch.

U can consider getting used set from Carousell. But make sure the BT model. THX model is too old

I just sold my Bose Companion 5 and bought Promedia BT from Challenger 2 weeks ago @ $369 - happy with the sound

The older THX model got weird crossover issue meaning the bass is very weird.
The new model without THX doesn't have this issue.

That is actually first version which is surprising it is still sold here.
Now is Aego 3, there are two version.

Standard with separate speakers (Wider sound stage)

Soundbar (Narrow sound stage)

Difference between the side is the sound stage, the separate speaker configuration.
You can place the speaker further apart for wider sound stage.

If you want to try 2.0 speaker either R1280DB or R2000db.
Take note you will a bigger space on your table.
If you ask what speaker as well as soundcard
I am using, you can see in my signature ->.

I have played with many speakers, sold many until I end up
with Logitech Z523. :s13:
Why? Z523 mids are not that good but the bass isn't so overpowering
like the Z623/Z625.

However Logitech Z523 is discontinued so unlikely to find this speaker.
Causal gamer here, don't really have much time since my work are staggered hours so Z523 will do fine for me.

anyone know this is sold here? price?

I have been flickering between the choices but i think i finally came to a (almost) conclusion.

Klipsch Promedia 2.1 @ $369
or
Edifier S350DB 2.1 @ $348

hmmm

:s22::s22:

Why do you choose the S350DB and not consider the R2000DB?

Im not sure performance wise how they compare, but im more keen in a 2.1 system than adding a sub later, plus I believe the R200DB is even bigger than the S350DB?

I would just get S350DB just to spite the SG distro of Klipsch for having such a high markup.

Seriously tho, when you look at the reverse and look at the prices in USA: S350DB is USD$300 vs Promedia USD$175, wouldn't you wonder why you are paying more for Promedia here.

Satellites definitely. Not sure how much footprint you actually save however because R2000DB is 174mm width vs S350DB is 127mm width... ok, maybe quite a bit.

Exactly what i thought about the price of Promedia vs S350DB.
Performance wise from what i read that they are also on par?

Have saw your review on the R2000DB, very nice read, thanks :)

On the size, subwoofer aside (since i will be putting it on the floor) the size of the 2 are like:
S350DB 222H x 127W x 156D
R2000BD 289H × 174W × 252D

So respectively the R2000DB is larger by 30%H x 37%W x 61%D

I'm using a 1300 x 700mm table with a 34" ultra wide monitor so space is a little tight. :o

I think i will just go for the S350DB as a final choice.

Pay a little more for Edifier XM2PF and get a subwoofer with an adjustable bass knob...

You would think that something like this that was a standard feature in a $40 Creative or Sonic Gear would still be a standard feature now, but no...

Is this a decent choice?

Was also evaluating Creative Pebble plus too.

Cheapest = Bluetooth Receiver.
Around $20.
Turn your Wired Speakers into Wireless.

Does the bluetooth receiver need to have aptx? Otherwise will have audio lag when watching videos... My desktop don't have Bluetooth transmitter also.
