Why don't u finish it first then apply under DEI

In the long run u will benefit.
Once u go under Des. Even if u finish they will. Not. Change anything for u

Absolutely right, but the chances of being shortlisted (DEI) w p.deg, hundred to one shot. Some took 2-3 applications to get shortlisted. Some halfway tru the application was not selected... But, if you’re keen and passionate enough. No harm giving your best shot.

I call the recruitment guy just now, he mentioned there is a conversion scheme for sergeants to inspector once I got my degree.

I tot of yr point as well, but e fact is even if I got my degree n apply DEI, is not 100% guarantee I be able to pass all e 5 rounds necessary for DEI interview.

But currently, if I apply thru DES, I manage to get in, by e time I complete my PT degree.
I would have pass out from e 6 mths Des training plus would have some experience at an NCO.
Perhaps that would be beneficial if I ask to be considered for inspector role later.

That is my view lah

Yr absolutely right dude.
I am afraid my chances r slim, even if I would to apply DEI later.
I have a project mate from SIM, he is currently an inspector, signed on as DES, recently got degree.
He told me nowadays, even with a degree, doesn't mean sure guarantee be inspector.
SPF looks at yr character, attitude and other areas.
For me I feel, since I am really passionate now to enter SPF, I regretted not signing on during my bmt 13yrs ago when I had a chance, I rejected cos at that time was 10yrs bond, plus I wanted to be a detective den, but at tat point, have to be part of e force for a few yrs before get

I have a friend who converted from DES to insp
Not very easy because many people are vying for the conversion (he said around 5-6 are selected per year)

It is good to have the goal to convert to insp but don't get too hung up on it because like what my friend who converted told me, it is mcm strike toto kind

Not to be a wet blanket, but even DES is flooded with applicants. No guarantee you will get an offer, let alone convert to INSP which others have said is like winning lottery in itself.

DEI... goes without saying. So many applicants and rounds of interviews.

Conclusion? 0.05% chance be it DES or DEI.

You know what I think why some of us takes so long, there are intakes like if Im not wrong 6/7 intakes per year. So what I think, just my random theory lol, SPF is trying to fit people into each into or something like that hence the long wait lol or maybe Im just thinking too far lol cos the next one should be Oct/Nov
