I am quite amazing that some users have no issue with face ID when their masks are on. How you guys managed to do it? I once followed the instructions published by The ST but it does not work well at all. Thanks.

There’s no definite solution. It all depends on the AI. For me it did work after about a month wearing my cloth mask. When I wear surgical mask the success rate goes down.

Under setting ringer volume visual software bug kind of annoying, thought the ringer volume is minimum but actual it was not. It will return to the setting we set once we play some media with sound. Hope it get fix in iOS14.1

Yes happened to me yesterday night when I randomly went in to change my ringtone. Was quite shocked to find out the ringer volume being all the way down. Had a scare because I’m heavily dependent on my alarm every morning.

This is very frustrating. What’s the point rolling out new features like widgets, as redundant as it is, at the expense of introducing all these bugs?

One of the things that baffles me. Considering went through a few iterations of betas, would figure most bugs would have been iron out.

ah its the nature of bugs. the beta only release to a relatively small group of people, beta is to iron out like 90% of the bugs, remaining 10% need general release then will be seen, since way more people will be using.

Anyways for now the widgets while nice to have very limited, hope the 3rd party devs faster update their apps. 1st day my battery life jin cui, but after 2nd night so far nubbad. XS max here.

Exactly, my colleague using 11 PM easily and naturally unlock his phone with mask on. Asked him many time what’s the secrets behind this unlock, he replied
he did nothing.
I did follow the method of ST taught but was unsuccessful

Thats the funny part - in any ther situation when you buy a product you expect it to work without any hindersnce, breakdown, etc or else you get a refund - for the Apple products we are so forgiving to the extent that Tim takes all the apple users for granted and does not do the necessary to ensure quakity control - he knows that all the screw ups will be forgiven.

I found that when you have configured the hone to recognize you wirth mask on - when you need to unlock with mask on try to bring the phone higher up to the upper part of your face and maybe move the phone horizontally left to right at the same time. works for me 90% of the time. I believe it is trying to identify the upper part of your face. Also remember that the mask cannot be tio high up on the nose, Bring it down to the tip of your nose.

Im using 11PM and i can unlock using faceID with my mask on, 50% of the time. The remaining 50% i still need to use pin. And no, i never bother to try ST method cos i am lazy.

No... I had iPhone X at launch. It’s so terrible and not optimised, I refunded it and went to Samsung and den S10 Plus was so terrible, I came back to Apple.

Thats why i normally wait a month or 2/3 patches before updating lol.

i always see people say their phone is faster (which is proven untrue after they got fined for deliberately slowing down our phones in the name of saving battery life), experience longer battery hours... yada yada but my experience since ios 5 is this is not true. new releases are often plagued with bugs and i have come to realise only to update it after they release a patch like a xx.1 update. typically this version will be better than a new xx.0 release

Even point updates cannot be trusted these days. Last year when they introduced 13.1 or 13.2, it broke RAM management. Safari reloads everything whenever you exit the app. Ridiculous.
