In my biz I have met some nice pilots/crew. But some are also a bit....i don't know how to say, ego? Entitled mindset? Not down to earth?

Cannot cut lifestyle one, esp for those past 40s. Until maybe up to neck deep and ah long pounding on the door, maybe........

Can be seen from some of the pilots response in this thread. Keep saying many lived in their hands, so their job is better than others and die die cannot adjust lifestyle.
