Gg, wanted to get 12 cause maybe there’s an increase in ram from the 11 pro max. Looks like I’m skipping the upgrade this year.

You can consider going for the 12 pro.

Tbf my iPhone 8 still working well
I am thinking should I change to 12 or 12 mini?

When the phones are out in display then go and try it yourself to decide.

How do the MagSafe wireless charging works? Is it really wireless? :s11:

its just like the traditional wireless charging "pad"
instead of the "pad" stays on the table, now the "pad" is magnetically attached to the phone. so u can use it while charging
no need to remove from wireless charging "pad", then put it back again to resume charging.

so its like cable charging but magnetic wireless :s22:

Is it wasted if buy 5G iPhone but subscribe to 4G ?

Then again, is it a waste to pay extra for half baked 5G line?

Thanks

Apple also mention about Smart Data
the phone will switch to 5G when necessary. like streaming or downloads for example. most of the time is 4G

12 v 12 pro (128gb) - difference is like $400 including cost differential applecare. My main concern is the extra 2gb ram. Will 4gb be enough for casual user or is 6gb like a must have for future proofing?

I think the 11 Pro Max is only 4GB and it’s more than enough for my daily usage.

If you say future proofing, 6GB may not last you too long as later may have 8GB and so on. Samsung has 12GB but honestly speaking, their RAM management is not so good and performs slower than even my XS Max.

The extra 2gb won’t make much difference.
You are using iOS not android

the RAM is a surprised.

iPhone X (from 3 years ago) was on 3GB.
iPhone 11 Pro (last year) was on 4GB.
this year flagship model gets 6GB.

perhaps the ML stuffs need more RAM~?

12 Pro with 6GB shoots HDR video recording with Dolby Vision up to 60 fps while
12 with 4GB shoots HDR video recording with Dolby Vision up to 30 fps

Sorry, but no amount of ram management can beat an increase in physical ram. I guess u dont even use the camera or multiple apps at once to realise that apps keeps refreshing. Its like changing from the iPhone 6 to the 6s and to the X then finally 11 pro max. All the iterations have bumped up their ram and i have benefitted from the increase in ram. 4gb is just barely sufficient for ios these days. 6gb would be a better sweet spot for today's iPhone.

Hopefully MagSafe works through thin cases so I don't have to buy theirs :s12:
