Sorry, but no amount of ram management can beat an increase in physical ram. I guess u dont even use the camera or multiple apps at once to realise that apps keeps refreshing. Its like changing from the iPhone 6 to the 6s and to the X then finally 11 pro max. All the iterations have bumped up their ram and i have benefitted from the increase in ram. 4gb is just barely sufficient for ios these days. 6gb would be a better sweet spot for today's iPhone.

But how is 4GB bearly sufficient? My 11 Pro Max is quite heavily used daily and I don't encounter any lag or crashes. It's not a lot of RAM on paper but still sufficient for daily usage.

Im actually considering these 2 model. The 12 and the 12 pro. Most likely preferred 6.1 inch. Should i pay more for the pro since i will be gettimg a 128gb anyway? I dont really care for camera but ram does matter? I been using iphone 11 and dont really feel any slow in the ram.

But the top up price is 280 for an upgrade ram, better brightness, better camera, lidar and the stainless steel. Worth it?

It doesnt lag on mine either, just that ram management will kick in and background apps keep refreshing, especially when using the camera app. Its sufficient but good to have some leeway such that background apps will stay open longer.

top up price might be more if you're thinking of getting applecare also as one of the other bros here mentioned.

am considering the same thing too between 12 and 12 pro.
for me might go for pro for the ram + Stainless Steel.
the camera is good to have but i don't use it that often or in scenarios where it would definitely benefit me

$369.88 difference may or may not sound that big, but it's like 22% of the price of the 12 128gb model. Might be that more rational to keep and invest those dollars and upgrade in shorter time frame via tradein rather than pay 1980.70 for 12pro.

Deciding between 12 pro n 12 pro max.

Been using xs max. Like the big screen n batt. Dunno if i can adjust to the 6.1” or not.

Diff around $148, sigh.

i was considering the latter at first too, but i cant find a justification for the 12pro in my personal usage where i find myself thinking i need that extra ram to make it a smoother experience.

but at the same time 6.1" on a 12pro with a better battery life does sound nice though.. considering how my bluetooth is often paired with my watch and airpods

What's $150 when you already planning to throw 1.6K :s13:

I suggest go store and try it out then decide ba

My heart wants to buy the 12 pro since it is launch earlier.

But the $150 upgrade is considred negligible relative to the 1.6k. So abit gian to wait for 12 pro max :o

Here's a plan for you.... the iPhone 12 plan.

23rd October - Pickup iPhone 12
30th October - Return iPhone 12 and Pickup iPhone 12 Pro
13th November - Return iPhone 12 Pro and Pickup iPhone 12 Pro Max

You have 1 week to rent a brand new iPhone 12, 2 weeks to rent another brand new iPhone 12 Pro and finally a brand new iPhone 12 Pro Max for your ownership, all at the same cost of a iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Be sure to create a dedicated Apple ID for this!
Enjoy!
