Corsair is about 15% more expensive.
Which one to choose?

i would go with the corsair. 5 year warranty vs 3 year on the evga, with less power supplied to boot. also jonnyguru seems to view the evga as worse than the corsair.

I second this. But really cannot up budget a bit to get the 650 watt gold PSUs with 10 yr warranties? Full Modular also

I would say it’s a pretty good list to glance at if you cannot find detailed reviews from a reputable source like tomshardware.

Spoke to one of the editors in another forum and he was more than willing to provide his reasonings and sources on why a certain PSU is tiered that way. Very knowledgeable fellow and so far no major issues were raised against the list so I would assume majority of the PSU-loving community agree with it

I'm using corsair cx550m psu. So far so good, the fan for this psu is always running , this is what i like. Final choice is up to you. Quite expensive.

Probably not 850w but a good quality PSU is very worth IMO since it can last even longer than the warranty period. Also, 80 plus gold doesn't mean a PSU is good as 80 plus only measures efficiency and not build quality, protections and other features. A prime example would be the EVGA G3 which lacks important protection despite being from a reputable company and 80 plus gold rated. You might want to look at product reviews instead of just relying on brand names since even PSU giants like Seasonic and Corsair have made bad/subpar PSUs.

i wouldnt count on tomshardware for reliable reviews of anything.
for psus id rather go jonnyguru, and they actually did talk about the g3's "issues" here: http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?16897-Replace-EVGA-G3. i do agree that 80+ ratings are not a good indicator of quality though.

I’m not claiming that EVGA G3 is a bomb. I’m using G3 as an example on how a big name company can make a product that is “subpar” to other alternatives from other brands aimed at the same price range and that even you should not rely solely on the branding. Like sure, you probably wouldn’t have a 650w model into drawing 800w to trigger OPP but that doesn’t mean that there isn’t any PSU you can look at that is of the same build quality but does not have those “issues”. There are a lot of alternatives out that which basically makes the G3 irrelevant while still being in the same or similar price point.

Although I agree there are some Editors in tomshardware that have done questionable reviews in the past, Aris (Does PSU reviews in tomshardware) is definitely one of the few that are well qualified and have a good reputation to back it up.

Their retail shop selling $127, Lazada shop selling $136.62.

I will say most branded ones come with warranty and consumers can buy with a peace of mind. Most PSU can last long even for 10yrs. I used to have a Andyson 750W PSU using for 10yrs before I change to CM 550W bcoz of the noisy fan. Or else I am still using it.

Now I keep it inside my store for spare PSU.

First of all, not all PSU models are equal in quality even if they're from the same manufacturer.

I read that the only Corsair models worth considering are the Ax and Hx models.

As a rule of thumb, stick with Seasonic or Super Flower with at least 80+ GOLD rating.

Disagree. Corsair grey label CX / CXM (slightly worse than CX due to it being double forward and sleeve bearing fan) is acceptable for lower end builds. Corsair RMx is based on a trusted and proven platform (CWT GPU) and is widely used for higher end builds and have high praises in the reviews by johnnyguru and aris

i agree. i had originally wanted a superflower silver psu for my friend's build, but was oos all over sls, so i had a few hours to decide between the fsp hyper k 500w or corsair cx450m. i eventually settled on the corsair since most places actually recommend it for budget builds.

i mean what jurchen said isn't entirely wrong, u cant go wrong with the seasonic and superflower psus available locally, and he's right that there are only a handful of psu oems which most others rebadge and resell. but most of corsair's lineup is also very viable.

started off with Corsair but later switched to Seasonic.... once i even got it from amazon cos white color only available from there..

super reliable and never had any issues.

consair have how many years warranty? currently using seasonic in my current rig which is good at 10 years warranty and so far so good.

anyone can recommend a new PSU if i am to get a new rig on ryzen 5000 processors and a 6800XT? was thinking between consair and seasonic.
