Coming from iPhone 11 Pro Max.

12 pro max Battery life so far so good. Similar usage as how I always use my 11 PM. Phone calls, WhatsApp, wechat, social media browsing, occasional photo taking, web browsing etc. This 12 PM seems to be able to last as long as my 1 year old 11 PM. FYI my 11 PM is at 89% battery health.

Probably it’s because I turn on the “5G on” function because I’m trying to test out the 5G hence it’s draining the battery a little. Another point to note is while I was using my 11 PM it’s always on dual sim, 2 phone lines active at the same time whereas my 12 PM only switch on 1 phone line as the “5G on” function doesn’t work with 2 active phone lines apparently

If you’re very concerned about the battery then I can say it shouldn’t be a problem for you to last through the day. The weight difference of 12 PM and 11 PM can be felt too, 12 PM definitely feels lighter. Screen size wise it’s still as accessible as 11 PM, not much of a difference for me.

How do it feel on-hand with daily usage? The rounded edges vs squared-off edges

No issue for me. Unlock smoothly.

bro are you able to set a passcode, lock yr phone and wait 1min than try to unlock?

i am getting the above issue and resetting does not solve it

there is a 1 sec delay after keying the passcode before the phone unlocks

Not much a difference. There’s still a slight difference in holding a squared off phone but that doesn’t bring any positive or negative user experience to me.

Coming from ip7 and has been forever waiting for a less than 5.8 bezelless iPhone. This mini is just so insane.

1) no issue on the lock touch screen - used a random tempered glass screen protector and mous case.

2) battery life has been so far so good for me as I’m a rather light user. Never really understand a need for big screen as my preferred option would always go to desktop.

3) not sure why sometimes I’m seeing 5g on my phone. I thought you need to pay abit into the monthly sub for the 3 big telco. I’m on MyRepublic though...

first know how u use the phone daily. if just surfing the internet for news, etc, watch youtube/netflix for an hr or so, dun play games, i believe the mini should last u from morning till end of the day.

after holding the mini, i'm also very tempted to get one, but my ip11 is still working well, so probably i'd wait for ip13 mini.

Anyway, yes I don’t play game and generally I use to read email, text, 5-10mins of fb, don’t have insta acc. I don’t even watch YouTube or video on my phone.
I think the most intensive task I did on my phone is doing research on the go and opening a lot of tabs. (The ip7 was very hot when I did this previously, not sure if this constitute an intensive usage.)

All I ever need is a simple ecosystem, news, email text accessibility on the go with snappy speed.

Thanks! In general id consider myself quite a light user - usually just web browsing, taobao, little bit of social media. I neither game nor watch much videos, so just for some perspective im using an XR now and i enjoy about 7-8hrs SOT daily even though its 90% battery health. Im thinking should i get 12 or mini, 12 has better battery but the XR is more than enough for me. If mini can match XR, im good to go!

Appreciate advice from you guys especially those who transited from XR to mini!

1) hand warmer for those cold winter months (heats up the phone at a ridiculous rate)
2) test phone's thermal envelop. if phone is still alive after 15mins on dbs app.. thermal test passed.
3) battery stress tester. why loop video on 5G to test battery life when you have dbs app.

dbs app developers really group of gurus.... hahahahaha

Same. Makes everything appear yellowish. Bad for photo editing. Ever edited once without knowing it was on. All the edits ended up looking early bad.

I like the size of 7 plus but the weight for Pro max, is it even bigger and heavier?

As a mobile developer, i find this very worrying.
If phone warm, means their app not optimised or very high cpu usage
But if you not using the app, this is worrying because it might mean there's memory leak
Banking app contains lots of confidential data and u dont want anything to be leaked

Pro Max from 11 and 12 series are using stainless steel for their respective chassis. If XR is heavy for you, the Pro Max will disappoint you.
