Hi guys, anybody can help me on the coffee and milk ratio? I always seem to get it wrong. It’s always like too milky

I understand that full cream milk is the best.. is Meiji milk ok also?
If you are talking about latte.
I'm using dark roast
7g make 25ml. thick.
Not milky.

If you are using those light and acidic bunch, i think you will need at least a double shot 20g to get the same result. Maybe still feel milky. :(

I rather follow what I understand about coffee and my taste buds than blindly follow those ratio thingy. :o

Thanks all for the info! The video is very useful. I guess it’s my cup issue also. Let me try out again.

Seem like my extraction is wrong also. 16 to 18g of beans came out to about 50g of espresso.

Trying to make latte or flat white

16-18 should aim at 30-35g? 50g a bit too diluted for me. Lattes, especially flat white, are generally very milky, so perhaps reduce your milk ratio and see how it tastes. No right or wrong in this.

BTW for those that didn't know, Ross from Bright Coffee Company has launched his website. Am a big fan of his coffees - love the Columbia Decaf and Tanzanian AA beans. Prices are affordable.

NB: Not affiliated to him in any way.

Looks nice. Can give a try if my current stash runs out. He should have advertised more in Lazada or Shopee, following the Paksong way.

Anyone change their shower screens or baskets to IMS? Improvement?

I have both IMS and VST baskets.

Compared with stock (La Marzocco), I feel both are better. I prefer IMS over VST. But it’s really splitting hairs lah. It’s like comparing 8” studio monitors between Focal and Genelec. You can’t say any of them sounds bad, but they sound different.

I changed to IMS as well. Seems to make a slight difference. The holes more consistent.

Anyone can intro a relatively cheap capsule machine, and if anyone knows of any DIY self packing reusable capsule system to go along? Parent wants a relatively easy no brainer machine and wants to substitute his instant coffee intake..

Not espresso only keurig comes to mind
Espresso is just nespresso or illy iperEspresso, they both offer reusable capsules but I find it hard to get dose right and messy
I would recommend superauto units something like
https://iprice.sg/compare/philips-automatic-espresso-machine/

Did a search and saw a 3 in 1 (nespresso, dolce, coffee grind) machine for sale. Comes in different branding, and some as OEM ST-511 or ST-514 code. Seems cheap and interesting for its function. May try it out during 12.12 sale. Maybe can play with grind size and weight with this :s13:

Changed shower screen to pesado, I still dont get the nice rain droplets kind of flow tho... (LMLM here)

Thanks. I just ordered IMS shower screen as I need to change my rubber gasket soon. Just realized after general cleaning, the Bezzera shower screen is also not bad. Even water flow throughout the whole screen.
