Is there any eye center that is still conducting mass talk/webinar for lasik? I have checked a few and it seems that they're not even conducting virtual webinars.

Hi there!

Anyone had a consultation or did Lasik surgery at Eagle Eye Centre before?

Feel free to share your experience! :s13:

For those who did their lasik, how do you dispose unused contact lenses? Searched online and there are donation programs available in other countries but can't find any in Singapore. I thought it will be a waste to just throw them away.

Did Epiilasik with Collagen Cross Linking with Dr Julian Theng @ Eagle Eye Centre about 2 weeks ago.

During surgery:no pain at all
Immediately after surgery: no pain at all, can see without glasses, though of course vision is not perfect
1st day(day after lasik) : no pain until later on 2 am at night (considered 2nd day after lasik I guess) when I woke up because right eye was stinging and tearing alot like the kind of stinging caused by onions. Went back to sleep after putting eyedrops, next morning and rest of the day same kind of pain and super light sensitive, wearing sunglasses the whole day at home. Keep wiping away tears, finished up 1.5 tissue boxes. Pain went away on the 3rd day

5th day after surgery: vision was pretty good with the bandage contact lens on, although still abiy blur. Went for removal of the contact lens (different doctor:Dr Desmond saw me for this review), was told vision will most likely get poorer temporarily after he remove the lens though it does improve for some people. It did indeed get much more blur and I got so upset as I could not even see the words on my phone clearly and had difficulty reading my phone. Was worried because before the surgery i had close to perfect near eyesight. Told myself to be patient

Vision improved on about the 7th day, though it fluctuated, as expected.
Subsequently, slight vision improvements I think.

8th day: go back to work only for a few hours. Had difficulty seeing the screen and felt strain on the eyes.

Resumed full time work on the 10th day: it was so bad, after a full day of staring at the screen while intermittently putting lots of artificial tears, I was feeling giddy at the end of the day. The room was literally spinning and I couldn't walk in a straight line to go home. Work had put strain on my eye.
11th day: abit lesser workload at work, eyes were still very tired working, had no choice.
12th day:requested urgent leave to stay home and rest my eyes
13th day:back at work, but had such a huge headache from tired eyes even before i started work and this lasted the whole day
14th day(today) : was feeling better today, phew

So it has been 2 weeks.. My eyesight fluctuates, definitely not perfect, but the worse is usually when looking at screens like computer screen.
I can see my phone clearly most of the time and far vision restored about 70 to 80 percent roughly.

Hopefully I will have a fast recovery and will have less painful days at work.

Hey bros! I just did Bladeless Lasik at EEC a 4 days back and it was really painless but scary at the same time :s13: Felt like my eyes have fully recovered as I am not seeing any haze nor experiencing any dryness in my eyes anymore.

However, I saw from a few previous posts (this thread) and a friend who did Lasik in EEC before that that their vision was not corrected well after the Lasik surgery. Heard that the staffs and doctors will "smoke" you saying that it will get better until you finish your last consultation with them. I am currently facing the same issue as my right eye is not as clear as my left eye when looking afar but was told by the staffs that this is normal as it is still healing. Would like to check with any bros if I am also being "smoked" or it is actually normal that lasik do not fully correct your vision like mine and the others?

P.S I still picked EEC as my go to clinic as I had referral discount from an acquaintance but found out that they do not actually have a discount thereafter :(

I did the lasik @ EEC too, 5 months since my op

I only can say that 1st 3 months will be filled with ups and downs. There are days you will be wow by the clear vision and there will be days you will be panicking as the vision blur badly.

Give it time. I took about 3-4 mths to stabilise. During the first 3 months I made alot of last minute "emergency" appointments as I got panicked due to the blur vision suddenly.
Reasons back then were:
- Dry eyes
- side effects of the steroid drops
- allergic to steroid drop that caused the eye pressure to increase TREMENDOUSLY

So although i can say give it time, but don't brush it aside if you feel its not right. Only you yourself knows.

I am wondering how would someone know if they are allergic to the eyedrops?
I was originally having no stinging feeling when using the Tobradex steroid drops given to me but suddenly for the past few days, whenever i drip them into my eyes, at that exact moment, it stings, but the next second or two later the stinging is gone. Should I be concerned?

actually the stinging feeling is normal. its supposed to have that.

i apologise for the wrong choice of word, maybe shouldnt call it allergic reaction but side effects? the steroid drops can cause high pressure in the eye for some people, that includes me. so for my case, the vision gets more blurry as i continue using it. if you are feeling ok then you should be fine

:)
