Whizcomms is aware of the issue and is looking into it.

copy and paste from whizcomm!!

There is a cable outage that affected the infra traffic of Singapore-US. Our Engineering team are progressively monitoring the issue and putting into place some traffic workaround at the moment to minimize the impact.

Customers may experience slowness than usual during prak hours until the significant capacity is restored.
We deeply regret the inconvenience caused.

maybe is sway sway hit a segment where it's not in the cable ring and the cable vessel will need to actually repair and relay the submarine cable.

also maybe whizcomm dun really buy up excess international bandwidth so cannot failover properly when some links have issue.

im still on vpn.

What are the terms like, does the subscription increase like how M1's used to?

If you are using windows 10. Suggest you download the speedtest app and test it out.

Sometimes browse can't give a accurate speed

Are you using ONR or ONT mode?

If using ONR, chat with support to get the ONR checked and replaced if faculty (it could be faulty fibre cable too).

If using ONT mode, connect laptop directly to the ONT and check the speed. If speed is okay, then it is your router or Ethernet cable problem. If speed is still bad, chat with support.

Any good promo on 1GB or 2GB broadband plan in the market now??:s12:

Yes, you can try Starhub which may give three months free for 1Gbps plan.
https://www.starhub.com/personal/home-broadband/fibre-broadband-plans/fibre-1gbps.html

No point to subscribe to 2Gbps plan in general.

Of all the ISP plans, Singtel 2Gbps and Viewquest 2Gbps plan are the worst as you have to use their ONR and the ONR can not be bridged.

Starhub 2Gbps, MyRepublic 1+1 and SingTel 1+1 Gbps plan are okay as they are dual 1Gbps plan. But you need to ask yourself if you really need that extra 1Gbps.

does starhub broadband includes free land line?

https://www.starhub.com/personal/home-phone/home-phone-line.html
Not free at S$2.1 per month if you only need Starhub Fibre Internet.

So effective price is S$(39.9*24/21+2.1) or about S$37 per month if you need digital voice.

But you can sell the free Nokia Beacon 1 for around S$40 to compensate for the digital voice.

Still if cost is a concern, consider 500Mbps plan by M1, S$29.9 per month, with free digital voice. And you can keep using your existing router. Or use the cost difference to upgrade your existing router.

To most of the people, 500Mbps and 1Gbps will not make a difference.

M1 has better customer service and IPv6, less throttling, if compared to Whizcomms.
