long time no deal with diy.. a bit lazy and rusty

thinking abt getting a new desktop, mainly for work purpose and occasional (simple) gaming system.

prefer to hook up to TV panel so tt display can be used for TV as well as monitor

budget wise best is 'cheap and good'..

experts here, what would u advise?:o

Normally I will DIY because I seldom buy a full set at one go. CPU/mobo/ram, GPU, and storage are upgraded as I see required.

My TV rig is now an old laptop.

You have to consider are you able to troubleshoot where there are issues?
A set like this from lenovo around $1000 with three years onsite warranty.

Dreamcore or aftershock despite there is warranty but it's not
next day service.
Example if RAM spoilt they have to RMA which take some time.

Branded wise if they have parts available they can service within
three business days.
I would recommend you to get branded, FYI the warranty can
be extended after it expire.

depends, if you have the time to diy/send for repair if things breakdown than okay. go with diy.

if you don't want to deal with all these, get a pre-built from dreamcore/mansa/thypoon systems

i have purchased from aftershock for my desktop PC and i can tell you. the service is subpar at best

.
I would not recommend Aftershock, based on my personal experience.

really give me an After-shock

are they value for $, some shops in SLS also have such service, but need to do some homework:D

Dreamcore/Aftershock are quite competitive in pricing compared to SLS. Ultimately, you can drop by SLS and ask them to give you quotation with the requirements that you have and compare them to Dreamcore/Aftershock.

Generally, I heard better reviews and service on Dreamcore. I have friends that brought PC from Dreamcore and are quite satisfied.

If you just need a pc to watch videos and hook up on tv. Just get a cheap laptop.

If you are into gaming and intensive work. Diy?

Correct me if wrong.
Dreamshock is more ex comparing same specs? Excluding brand comparison.

Aftershock RTS is quite value for money from time to time. Gotta keep a lookout for it.

If you're not particular about specific components or a few dollars of savings, I'll go for aftershock/dreamcore

No need to worry about hardware part availability and can just bring down for troubleshooting if anything goes wrong
