I’m having the new 4K box delivered within the next few days.

I hope that non-4K programmes can at least be broadcast on 1080p with this new STB.

At one period of time a couple of years ago i guess, my Tatung HDD model was able to have 1080P in the settings, but that was eventually removed and then back to 720p/1080i

Why didn’t you have it changed lol.

I was a also a trial user since that era, but since then I’ve had it changed to newer models over the years including the Cisco one and the Tatung HDD one.

I still got that, not broken don't change mentality with this miotv box.

It still output 1080i and after shifting home 4 times...still working.....very tahan!

The singtel tech guy told me this is the most durable tv box set, and advise me not to change, since I do no need the record function.

just to check if i want to terminate Singtel TV next month as contracr is up what is the process?

I email ST support and they mention just

1) DVR STB with Remote and Power Adapter
2) STB with Remote and Power Adapter

Never mention on cables and ONR. all these no need to return is it?

Please advice.

Note that singtel will offer 50 percent off subscription for 12 months for a 12 month contract and free set top box rental if u want to terminate - this is only available at the 4 main singtel shops including comcentre.

1) and 2) are correct if you still keep your SingTel Fibre Internet access.

If you are subscribed to SingTel Fibre TV only but using other ISP, I believe you need to return your ONR as well.

i don't have singtel fibre internet. just tv service. am using starhub internet for home

In that case, better bring the SingTel ONR and its power supply as well.

Just received my new 4K STB.

My first impressions:

- The new Commscope VIP5662 Gen 3 DVR STB is a lot smaller and lighter than my previous Tatung DVR one.

- The interface feels a lot more snappier than my previous Tatung DVR one. Probably because of the new CPU powering this box. The Tatung one will lag quite a bit when switching between Mediacorp FTA channels and other IPTV channels. Now its instantaneous!

- Premier League in 4k looks good!

- No digital clock on the front of the STB! I referred to that a lot and it's useful if i were to restart the STB and the correct time is the biggest indicator the STB is connected to the network.

The courier eill simply collect your dismantled box and give you the new 4K set. Set it up yourself, plug and play.

Thst bad huh...some old recording wanted to keep. Is there other way that I can export out the recorded program but still can playback?

Looking at different packages now and I was thinking of removing most channels under Family Starter and some channels under Jingxuan Starter since I seldom watch those.

However so far I see their existing packs, I am unable to mix and match one that fulfills what I want.

Sounds good. .. is the UI the same in terms of layout and design as the current HD box i.e. Microsoft Media room OS, ?

Yes the UI is still exactly the same as my previous STB, but without any lag at all.
