Obtaining recommendations for Building a new rig.

Motherboard died from my 2014 rig.

Just going to use the old HDD and everything else new.

Budget is 1,000.

Light gaming like L4D2, watching videos on two monitors. Would prefer a strong processor for applications like photoshop etc.

wah building when old pc die quite sian, especially now when u cant get any reasonably priced gpu. do u have a dedicated gpu u can reuse from your old rig? if not, then maybe might have to get intel so that u can run off integrated graphics. ryzen with integrated graphics isnt really a good substitute because official retail models are at latest only based on zen+ (3200g/3400g etc), which are considerably slower. if u are willing to take a risk, u can go to online vendors for zen 2 based oem (non retail) parts, which are decently performing but are hard to find and not always in stock.

Bring your HDD to SLS shop, tell them you want a new PC with $1k budget and reuse your HDD.

thats basically half a pc already also need to consider if u buy the processor whether if have integrated graphics, which is basically my previous post.

$1K is not sufficient for a new rig in the present market unless OP does not need a GPU. Even second-hand GPUs are asking for high prices.

Sorry forget about the photoshop. I can drop that.

Another application that I use fairly often and I extracted from their system requirements: "modern 64-bit CPU (for comfortable usage i5/i7 quad or equivalent is recommended but we tested on older quads as well and it will work just slower (anywhere from 2x to 5x slower))"

Probably need some advice on a pairing of processor + mobo.

Below setup is about 2.6k, any thoughts or sharing if this is good build. Planning to upgrade my monitor also maybe 6 months later

Looks pretty good. For the AIO, you can consider the MSI MAG CORELIQUID 240R

if both cost about the same, then go with the 6700xt. the 6700xt offers a lot more performance.

also another place i suggest u can save is with the ram, 3600c16 ram is a good bin but u pay a hefty premium for it. just get regular 3600c18 ram and tighten the timings from there.

navi 22 is already pushing the limits in terms of clockspeeds, and factory oc cards dont usually have more than 5% performance advantage over stock cards, so i would say just get the cheapest, since paying $150 extra (~10% premium) on the gigabyte one vs the xfx reference for such a small bump in performance with probably no more oc headroom is not really that value. xfx is a good amd exclusive aib like sapphire, so i dont think youll go wrong with it.

if I were you, I would like do a quick check on the cooling capacities of the different models + consider the warranty. if cooling is about the same, and warranty is about the same, then pick the cheapest. Nowadays, higher performing cards are mostly a matter of silicon lottery. Better to just assume they perform about the same.
