what's wrong with the one by one type?
My prescription now which is more comfortable and accurate is using the one by one type, whereas the one i got from owndays is from high-tech looking machines but makes me dizzy and I can see a lot of distortion from the lens.

The high tech ones are more convenient for us(practitioners) and more comfortable for the patient.
wearing the trial frame and then putting one by one sometimes for patients with sensitive nose, they feel uncomfortable and heavy when it seats for the duration of The Eye test.
Don’t let one bad experience with owndays give you a mindset that the high tech ones are not good. Also you must see where you purchase from, Quality vs mass quantity .
Edit: there’s pros and cons of both trial frame and phoropter. But the main factor is still the practitioner doing the job and communicating with you the patient to achieve the desired result.

U said customised lenses better to use the high tech machine to take measurements right? So how? What if my optician only has basic machine? So i still can order MSP or just go for lifestyle??

I would say... go msp, go default setting, and choose modern style. But most optical shop should have tools to measure the panto, wrap , vertex distance.

First time i know about this default setting thing. So standard value is good enough? No need use machine take measurement for panto wrap vertex right?

I think i might take balanced view. Cos watch tv also need to be good leh. Tv about 2-3m away.

If the practice doesn’t have the tools then you can make do with default settings. Mystyle profile is really good as it is.
I feel for all their 5-7 styles, distance is a given. But if you want to use computer and near, do modern or expert. Their intermediate zone and near zone will be wider.

Joke aside. Seriously I need professional advice whether spectacle shop that has modern equipment that can correctly test and prescript the measurement or have to go eye specialist doctor to check.

our eye muscles might be weaker, thus not being able to fuse the image we see into one, in turn leading to double vision. Thus these prism helps to shift the image back allowing your eye to see it as one.
prism has 2 usage usually, cosmetic and functional. Usually it’s more of the functional ones which is used for the patients to see image as one.
prism grinded onto lenses will cost more, however if the prism is too high, there are a few options, splitting the prism onto 2 eyes, or using the freshnel prism.

Ah OK. Cos it's a spare pair of glasses so I wanted to keep the cost as low as possible

Thanks for the reply. Do you suggest that I should go to an optical shop that has advance equipment to check or an eye specialist in hospital instead? If it is optical shop, any shop that has the equipment that you can recommend? Thanks

I saw your pm, I will get back to you there too. It to measure prism and all, it’s more of the practitioner experience and skills. But based on your problem, it seems likely more of the lens axis issue. Did you ask them to let you compare between the old and new axis?

not ruling out prism but if a 4 looks like an A, my first suspicion would be astigmatism issue before I look deeper e.g. macula degeneration or so. Usually eye muscle weakness causes double vision(in respect to the topic of prisms).

Depending on what brand of lenses, blue light can be from 20-80 onwards. Photochromic usually 100 onwards.
