I cover the earpiece area, my phone display doesnt light up when i double tap it
that one is not pocket mode.
pocket mode helps when u put phone in pocket without locking or accidentally unlock (touching sensor) while in pocket.
eg. i accidentally unlocked when i put it in my pocket, next thing i know its randomly calling ppl.
with pocket mode u cant do anything when the proximity sensor is covered.

bro if u free, can u help go into CIT mode and test the Proximity Sensor? CIT mode is go to the About Phone menu in Settings, then All Specs, then click on Kernel version a few times
my proximity sensor on calls also ok

Doubt this phone has pocket mode. But so far i have no issues with phone random unlock in pocket unlike samsung phones which the screen always wake up in pocket. How i know? Cos i always need to key in passcode when i take out samsung phones out of my pocket

lol, try hold phone flat first before changing to upright and then covering the top part

Sent from Poco F3 using EDMWER app!
doing that with my case on works. but once i move the phone from my ear back to horizontal position, it doesn't turn back on.. double tapping on the screen also doesn't work. it's like it still thinks my face is near the phone.

i think it's time for a factory reset.. lucky i havent really set up everything yet.

when u put the phone back to the horizontal position, does the phone screen turn on again? mine doesnt unlike i flick it very hard.. i think it ties to the accelerometer and that gentle movements dont trigger it

factory reset didn't make a difference. but what i did realise is that using the stock case and using it naked will make the proximity sensor work properly. I've got 2 cases and they are hard plastic type, both causes this issue to happen, oh well.. have to live with it or i change to those thinner TPU cases or maybe change to the XUNDD one since u're using that and it's fine..

doesnt make sense to me since ours is budget phone but I think our proximity sensor is the ultrasonic type.. else how on earth when i press the back of the phone, the display will turn off.

*edit* dont' think it's ultrasonic. it's probably similar to the redmi note 10 where it's using the orientation sensor plus something else which i'm trying to figure out what that is

I found out that if u use ur hands to cup the areas near the back camera, proximity will be triggered. If you hold it at the bottom of the phone, then no proximity will trigger.

Hah at first i thought i was the only one with a buggy proximity sensor while making calls.

Mine doesn't work most of the time, but while making a call and if i press the power button to turn off the screen, then press it once more to turn on the screen, the proximity sensor works perfectly.

Seems like a bug.

I think might be related to the 360 degree light sensor ba... But its wierd with this implementation

i tried with 1 thin silicon case and 1 hard plastic case.
both works fine. after i dial the number and place the phone to my ears, the screen is off.
if i move it away, the screen auto turn on again.

those with battery drain issue, try this:

Settings > Apps > Manage apps > Top Right Corner 3 dot > Show system services > Battery and performance > Clear all data

Once done then reboot your phone and monitor
