Intend to get a ceiling fan for the living room at my parents' place.

Probably going for the 36" Fanco F-star as have space constraints.

Any pros &/or cons for this small-ish DC fan?

Get a AC fan for easy maintenance in future.

Just wanted to highlight that i ordered KDK fans from tampoi. About RM650 (selling in SG for $400) for the basic model excluding GST and shipping. They were able to deliver to SG in 5 days

which model u buy? the jb kdk like no power / not much win come out now
I find ceiling fan is rather directional type of fan. If you are not sitting directly below or at the edge of the blade, you will feel like no power. End up, it's more like for circulation purposes.

I find a lot of BTO position of the power outlet is more for lighting purposes rather than ceiling fan. Of course, you can position your sofa to be directly under the fan but it will be closer to your TV which is getting bigger nowsaday.

Yes, have to pay out of their own pocket. Previously, bought KDK from JB, no issues for for 5 years

It really depends on the brand.

Many of my friends installed various brands of ceiling fans and i tried the windflow /circulation of each. Generally the more established brands the wind is not just directly below below but fans out circular direction.... and they are quiet even at higher speeds. The cheaper brands or those online ones have to be careful alot are so weak and noisy and you really have to sit underneath them to get any wind.
