Hey all, I'm completely new to this hobby. Decided to finally pick it up. I'm starting off with a 20L nano tank, intend to try keep some cherry shrimps.

I have been reading the basics, can anyone advice on how to start cycling a tank? A lot of people seem to recommend liquid ammonia, but I can't find it in SG. Some others recommend using fish food to start, but I heard it can get messy easily and may grow fungus or those worms.
Just set up my tank. Bought my lotsa media and came with lots of free BB capsule.

Pm me if you are keen foc.

I feed them fish food, algae waffles, blood worm, egg yolk, Thai mango and almond leaves. They love the mango most.

population keep increasing.

Anyone got tips on making a custom tank cover? I heard acrylic will warp over time because of the lighting and humidity, any one got experience?

That's interesting. Will the egg crate help with preventing evaporation? Also, I'm using one of those clip on both side kind of light, wondering if the egg crate will create patterns in the aquarium because of the shadows.
