I travel in a group of 3, it's within the requirement. Having breakfast, lunch and dinner in my stateroom for 5D is definitely not what I want and the experience of going to cruise is also the dining experience. It defeats my point. Get back the money and I can rebook as and when I want which is better for me. I can't even seat at the bar for a glass of wine because of phase 3HA and my travel date is before 21 June.
understand, had cupcake & sushi classes included in star class package, now both not available- cruise planner not updated yet, they’ll probably refund those who paid for the classes. Speciality dining menus look significantly reduced even for star class- chops grille looks like there are no sides- anyone onboard know whether sides are available on request? i only eat cooked seafood and veg, so seems like very limited options now. wanted to try the sugar free ice cream, seems not available either.

Main reason of the call is because I want a full refund back to credit card, I don't want a refund in future cruise credit. This is the part which is not clear, I don't want any screw up either. Full refund in what term? They also never specify, which I assume should be future cruise credit is their default terms.
It's mentioned in the email 'You will receive a 100% refund of your cruise fare paid within 45 days.' There not much room for interpretation here.

That's good. I always like to call to ensure no miscommunication and immediately I gotten my cancellation invoice and was told I will receive the money back into my mode of payment within 21 business days. Some people like to wait for their auto refund to kick in. That's never my style , I want an immediate respond and I would rather wait on the line.

From what I know cannot be done. Either book for straight 4 days or nothing. They do not allow selective days. Listen from the horses mouth is the most accurate information. Try to talk to a different CSO again and if all sing the same tune, that might be their standpoint on the internet.

You are unable to select the day you want to purchase the internet if you purchase it online. However, you may choose to purchase internet for 24 hrs duration while you are onboard. However, do note that purchases onboard cost alot more than online purchases so it might not be very worth it. AFAIK, 24hrs Surf+Stream cost between 24.99-29.99 USD when purchased onoboard.

Bring USD Cash.
The SGD cash exchange rate, what ever bad rate you have in your mind now, will be much more worse that it.

You can charge to the room card, at 5% service charge,

Hi I just saw in the show schedule there is a show called Magic of Zlwin - anyone has any review of that? Given the limit on number of shows one can book (1 per venue?) would like to have an idea of which ones to go for and which ones to skip

my recommendation is to go to any money changer and change US$100. which around be around SG$135. the casino can help you break it down to smaller bills (i recommend breaking to $50, $20, 3 x $10 or 2 x $10 and 10 x $1) this will give you the flexibility to hold on to the bill if you decide not to play. IMHO, the tables are quite quiet and can be rather cold. especially recently with no drinks.

you can also decide to change more, and then if you didn't spend, you can just settle any bills in cash, instead of going with the bank exchange rate + fees.

What surprised me about the show is.... the tricks are the same as the previous magican on my Dec cruise just the person doing it is different. seems like RCI owns the tricks and hired a magician to perform them.

I manage to catch 3 shows. mainly because not many people wanted to watch the beetles tribute.

My biggest issue was the timings for room cleaning...

Morning: they start around 8am to 12pm... which is werid coz breakfast is around 8am, and then lunch is at 12 to 2pm, so you maybe can go to the hot tub for an hour of so around 10 or 11am so they can clean up the room.

Evenings: 6pm to 8pm, totally no hope for me. that's dinner time, so the best case is to have dinner sent at 7pm, so they can clean around 6pm. i totally skipped this. by the time you go for shows, 8pm, its outside their cleaning hours.

Yup all have to dine in room, can takeaway from cafes and Izumi and bring back to the room to eat.

Confirmed that sides for Chops Grille are not available already- they have only the limited menu on top. here’s the link for dinner order on 17th sailing night:

Food...

List of options. I think only Izumi is open for paid dining for the whole cruise. but i didn't really bother to check the rest.

i will be rating against all the meals i had on RC, for a benchmark, I am going with Chops Grill 10/10, their food was awesome and the service outstanding. everything else will measure up against that.

Boarding day lunch (pic 1). they had seaplex hotdogs, sandwiches, cake, and pizza, as well as laksa (chicken or prawn). basically everyday its available, 2 kinds of sandwiches (1 with meat, 1 without meat), 1 type of cake/dessert) (black forest, cream puff, chocolate bar, raspberry cheesecake) + cookies. good selections of fruits and tea is available, they also have fruit punch or ice water.

for breakfast daily, the cafe has a couple of breakfast items, burrito and muffin, and laska is available for lunch daily around 11am to 3pm (pic 2).

if you want more drinks, two70 has juices and can toast the sandwiches. (highly recommended)

meh.. worst meal on board ever, i mainly skipped it for days 2 and 3. no change, every day its the same choices.

pastries, toast + jucie (apple, orange and tomato), grain (congee, oats, ceral etc) mains (Omelet, birrto, pan cakes (choclate, blueberry, banana), fruits/yogurt parfait, meat choce (bacon, sussage, corn beef hash)

so basically it was Overcooked ham and cheese omelet, undercooked corn beef hash, bacon fried in oil thats doesn't taste fresh. the highlight for me was the tomato juice and strawberry parfait. the pancakes were average too. Their congee was served with roasted garlic, chicken floss plus one other side, (ikan bilis fried onion etc)

Lunch + 1st dinner (pic 1) - 6/10

Given a few choices.

Apps, 3 kinds, 1 salad, 1 soup, 1 other (Can pick all 3) examples shown is puff pastry with seafood chowder, and corn cake)

main course (pick one), usually a choice of pasta, meat, fish or vege

desert (pick 1), cake of the day, or fresh fruits.

drinks: water and/or lemonade

Overall, kinda decent, the food was tasty, choices were limited. desert of the day was the ONLY time i had key lime pie (it was available everyday the last time)

food was quite hit and miss, for example, the seafood chowder was nice, but the puff pastry was bad (i think it was done a long time before it was served)

you do need a bit of luck here, i really didn't like anything on day 4 so in pic 2 i order off the kids' menu, minute steak.

Dinner - 8/10 (costal kitchen)

The best meal, huge choice of apps, good choice of mains and desserts i wish i could have a 2nd dessert i think it might be possible if you call them, but i was already too full to bother.

Food was mainly enjoyable, especially for a seafood lover like me. Tuna tartare, smoked salmon, grill octopus, and prawn cocktail. also had roasted pork belly, beef gnocchi, escargot...

Mainly course had steak, duck, cod fish, salmon...

i would rate it higher, but i think having it delivered to the room just made the experience less exciting. little things like the apple pie not being warm for dessert, or the creme burlee being too firm (over set?) and i felt the fish was over cooked.

They also served me the wrong food once. and had to remake it.

Supper (Room service) - 8.5/10

Room service was free for all Sky and Star level guest from 6pm to 12mn, and the food was the best of the trip, everything served was piping hot. just that... no chicken wings, and u can order around 6 to 7 items each time before they get unhappy and tell u there is a limit (which for me, i politely reminded them that i am not paying the service charge, and i can just split my order) but please note you can order around 2 to 3 items per person.

I really enjoyed the chicken noodle soup and chicken tenders, had it every night. my wife has the salmon everynight. tomato soup, grill cheese and the cakes were average. only normal cheese and chocolate cake, decent, but i have had better on RC.

Drinks - 6/10

Pool bar had complimentary drinks for sky class from 5pm to 8pm. thing is they only give u one everytime, so i had to go a few rounds. if you lucky, and meet a nicer bar tender he might give you a double and/or one alcohol and one non-alcohol. but the experience overall for this wasn't good.

Coffee - there was also some specialty coffee available for sky and above, capacinno, latte, espresso or americano. not much selection, i don't really drink coffee, but it was decent.

Overall - 7/10

Think the room matters a lot, having a dining table was a game-changer. but we did have meals in the balcony and the coffee table.

all dining and drinks packages purchased have been refunded. both not offered. I think the speciality rest. are mainly to cater to the Star class guest.
