I had received my QN90A end of June and just found out there are 3-4 dead pixels and 3-4 bright pixels on my panel.

I called the Samsung Helpline and had arrange for their specialist to come down to do diagnostic and repair.

Was told by the HN salesman and also the customer service officer from Samsung they will most likely swap the panel for me.

I had not really checked for dead pixels when I received as I was expecting it to be a perfect panel. Till when I was checking close up for my screen is IPS or VA then found out about the pixels.

Paid premium for this flagship and gotten a panel that has so many pixels issues is kind of disappointing.

I had asked my HN salesman and he ensure me that this model is a VA panel and tell me to ignore the websites speculation (I think he is trying to play down).

when the specialist coming this Friday I will try ask and demand to have a VA panel.

Which HN salesman you deal with? You should ask the HN sales manager instead

do not understand how this can be used in same model as the native contrast is totally different specification. no wonder Samsung dont want to mention contrast spec in their web site.

No Dolby Vision, and use IPS panel. not a wise decision from Samsung.
Regarding the Dolby vision thing, does it make a big diff? I do watch Netflix a lot. I've not experienced before and i think there's not a chance i am able to experience before i buy.

This is my first time buying a TV and it really is quite a daunting task. lol

Ideally should get one which supports all the below

Dolby Vision
Dolby Vision IQ
HDR10
HDR10+
HDR10+ Adaptive (the rival to Dolby Vision IQ)

For TVs

- Samsung don't support Dolby Vision. HDR10+ and HDR10+ Adaptive are by SAMSUNG TVs. LG/SONY don't support HDR10+. All support HDR10

- TCL looks like support DolbyVision/HDR10/HDR10+

- PANASONIC supports Dolby Vision IQ and HDR10+. LG and TCL also support Dolby Vision IQ depending on models.

- Not sure about PHILIPS TVs

For 4K UHD Blu-ray discs

- Many support HDR10 and/or Dolby Vision
- Some support HDR10+ or both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision

So if you want a TV which supports Dolby Vision then go for LG/SONY/TCL and you can get many 4K UHD discs to watch too

For 4K UHD Streaming Services/Devices support

Netflix – HDR10/Dolby Vision
Apple TV – HDR10/Dolby Vision (4K@60fps)
Disney+ – HDR10/Dolby Vision (4K@60fps)
Xbox Series X/PS5 (no support for Dolby Vision/HDR10+ - Only HDR10 for Blu-Ray discs)
Roku Ultra – HDR10/HLG/Dolby Vision (4K@60fps)
Nvidia Shield TV – HDR10/Dolby Vision (4K@60fps)

Amazon Prime Video supports HDR10+
Amazon Fire TV Cube – HDR10/HDR10+/HLG/Dolby Vision (4K@60fps)
Amazon Fire Stick – HDR10/HDR10+/HLG/Dolby Vision (4K@60fps)
Chromecast with Google TV – HDR10/HDR10+/Dolby Vision (4K@60fps)
Pendoo T95 – HDR10+ (6K@30fps/4K@60fps)

Note :- Let me know if the above has error

It’s also important to get one which can get bright enough to enjoy HDR and DV..

You may be getting a display set from HN. I have twice, experienced with HN sending display set and I reject them on the spot.

Look like what he said is actually what happen now.

Technology vs price, answer is never a never. Only time will tell. Anyone remember how much it cost when the first LCD TV hit the market? During those day, no body think CRT TV will become history.

Was told it’s a brand new set and in the end found so many pixel issues. The screen protector on the screen was still on the TV when I received it.

in any case, the specialist is coming tml. Will try ask.

Likely a new set since the model is new and the plastic protection sheet is still on. Too bad there are some dead pixels. Just get it changed lor

Bro should just directly ask Samsung, if salesman ensure its VA panel but its not fight for a full refund or get a different model. HN salesman gave me wrong info a lot of times before

Yes, my sales guy also gave me some wrong answers during the recent Samsung purchase since he obtained his info from his source (likely from Samsung). When something is new in the market info is scarce.

I need to double check on the net through reading up reviews and watching YouTube. Even then I still got no answer from him or from the tv manual whether my tv supports Wifi 6E although the net says it supports. The manual only states it supports WiFi ax. I doubt Samsung Singapore has a Wifi 6E router to confirm this.

I'll need to wait till I get hold of a Wifi 6E router to confirm
