Hello anyone using Toshiba Youme from Carrier ? Mine states that it is made in Thailand. Does anyone have any issues with connecting it to the Toshiba Home AC app ?

Hi guys, just wondering if we opt for R32 and in the event, "touch wood" if we need gas top up, will we have difficulties to find repairman since it need a "special license" to do the work?

once it reaches the point where you have to top up, more installers can do it already. Now everywhere going into R32 - they will be force to take it up to be relevant.

btw, I have never once top up my "gas" before since day 1. Not sure why so many people needs it. What your do with your air con?

Can I check… if Sys 4 compressor btu is 36k.
and sometimes all 4 blowers are on (12+9+9+9), will it spoil the compressor? Since all 4 blowers are 39k. or will it just not be as cold?

appreciate your answers.

Wont spoil. Just not enough power to make all cold at the same time.

right now my set up is 18k (living room), 12k bedroom 1, 9k bedroom 2, 9k bedroom 3.

Would it be feasible to swap blowers between bedroom 1 and bedroom 2? Reason being that when I use living room (18k), I won’t on bedroom 2 blower (12k). Bedroom 1 (9k) and bedroom 3 (9k) can continue to use so total btu is 36k just nice. Right now, the set up seems to be 39k btu which is over the compressor limit.

Cost wise, is it worth the trouble to swap blowers to ensure that it’s cold enough?

Hellooo!

I'm purchasing my upcoming resale flat and it comes with system 3 in 3 bedrooms
the current owner installed them 5years ago.

Should I:

1. Remain the system 3 and just add system 1 in living room or
2. replace everything and just do system 4 or
3. replace only pipings for current system 3 (remain the unit) and add system 1 in living room?

TIA!

For Daikin MKM85 eco series...is it too weak /risky of not cold...if use system 4 for it...
1. Calculate the amount of cooling capacity you need per room using the recommended formula below

Cooling capacity required in kW = Total area to be air-conditioned [m2] ÷ 5
*to convert to Btu/hr, multiply the kW result by 3412

2. Then look at which combination suits your place. It has to be either equal or higher than your calculations.

3. Then compare the rated kW of the same combination per room against your calculations. Again, it has to be equal or higher than your calculations.

You can see that many of the rated kW is lower than the FCU itself because rooms can be smaller, especially BTOs now. They probably only need around 6-7K BTU but the smallest FCU in the market is 9K.

So right size the CU against your rooms, not the FCU, else everyone has to get the MKM100 and Daikin might as well sell only MKM100.

You do need to get the FCU that is either equal or higher though.

I think you should leave things as it is now and use the existing system until it uplorry. After that then change aircon system you want including the aircon piping.
