Its a whole big load of multiple factor. Not only the autopilot issue. As a matter of fact, almost the whole market is red
Almost everyone except Tesla consumer wish Tesla to fail, for their own personal interest

The biggest challenge will be from hydrogen powered cars. Toyota even tested ICE engine with hydrogen. Maybe 20 years later, fusion power generator will provide hydrogen cheaply.

i thought cars utilising fuel cell hydrogen does not have ICE but the hydrogen converts to electricity directly right ?
i guess this can only be commercialised on large scale once they figure out how to generate Hydrogen and distribute it cheaply

Guess it will only makes commercial sense once they figured out a cheaper way to produce hydrogen fuel and to distribute it cheaply.

Wouldnt an EV still makes more sense than a hydrogen ICE car as hydrogen ICE would still have a combustion engine and still required maintenance on the engine ( engine oil change, spark plugs, timing belts, whatnots ) ?

1. It has to do with charging time.
2. Battery degradation.
3. For industrial machinery, often run longer and there may be enough time to charge.
