Yes. Nanyang is like all in one stop, organised and good walkway to enjoy without being squeezing.
Spent nearly 2hrs there 2 weeks back, fish still surviving now. Although my plant from there uplorry.

When buying Fish, it is more important to look at Quality rather than just Price alone.

Disclaimer: The following is merely an example to illustrate my point and in no way defamatory to any LFS named or otherwise stated in the example below.

Say you buy 10 Tetras from C328 Florist at $0.40 each. Total $4.
Then you buy 10 Tetras from another LFS down the block at $0.60 each. That is a whopping 50% increase in price! Total $6.
You decide to save $2/50% and bought from C328 Florist.
Then you bring home the Tetras and happily drop them into your tank.
1 week later, "XXX" disease (Fill in the XXX) hits your tank and only 2 Tetras survived the entire episode. So your Real cost is $2 per fish.
While the other LFS shop fish all survived due to being healthier. So their Real cost is still $0.60 per fish.

Go figure if the 50 cent higher price is due to profiteering or due to higher cost keeping their fish in better condition.

Hope you understand my point of view about purchase price tag vs REAL price tag.
i wasn't really looking for live items.. more to accessories and food. transport isn't a issue to me and i'm not in a rush to get, just visiting other LFS and if price is right, why not?

but i think buying a higher-priced livestock gives no gurantee it'll live better or of better quality. the upkeep of the tank at the shop is an important impression to a buying customer. there're some i do come across with few dead fishes in it....
some prices differs just too much
Why do you need to skimp on 50 cents per item? Pay for what you need at a price you are willing to pay for at a location that is near enough. Going all the way there to Clementi, queue up for 10-15 minutes and save 50 cents per item may be just penny wise and pound foolish. Besides, the livestocks and products you want may not even be available at C328. At C328, they pack specific quantities of certain livestocks so you have to buy everything in the bag whereas others allow you to choose and pick. Gotta take those considerations in mind. Your best bet in terms of pricing is at Nanyang (except for shrimps) but you need a car to get you there.
this is true, what u have at store A may not be available at store B, thus depends if u want to have it urgently and pay for the convenience.

The grapevine indicates a covid case from a customer patronizing the place hence the closure. So of course not going to state anything on the shutter. Unverified news.

so far no issues with 328.

even there's some problem with dry feed, i got it exchanged no question asked

i think small players at standalone shops can command a higher price as there's less competitors unlike 328.. their sales volume likely also lower than 328

health of fish, i layman, its heng suay:p

thanks.
i try using vinegar from ntuc. it didn't work. :o
any particular brand you can recommend?
No particular one. I usually use all three in that order. For Barkeeper's Friend, sprinkle the powder on the glass, use spray mister to wet it, wait 2-3 minutes, scrub with toothbrush, rinse with water. Repeat if necessary.
