Hi interested in Linberg too. My degrees quite high.

Sph. Cyl. Axis Add.
R -6.80 -01.79 086 01.00
L -6.85 -01.45 085 01.01

Need transitions lens due to work. Prefer acetate frames or any type that can hide the thickness of lens. Face chubby. Nose quite flat so normally using nosepad type. Any recommendations? I thought of just buying Linberg frames then bring to the shop I always frequent for the lens. Is it ok? Currently using Varilux X Design 1.74 T7 Grey lens. Progressive Lens but don’t really fancy it. Like not so sharp or just my eyes not adjusting. So thought of making normal lens without the progressive.

Any recommendations greatly appreciated. TIA.
Hi,
You can consider going for the Lindberg Acetanium series, most of their frames are quite thick so it can hide the thickness of your lenses. Yes it will be ok for you to purchase the frame and bringing it to your personal practitioner and get the lenses done there.

Hoya
Hoya vision website only left mystyle v+. And a new Hoya ID Myself, supposedly the newest highest tier progressive.

https://www.hoyavision.com/sg/?expand=161/31
Any reviews on hoya ID myself? Really that fantastic?
Myself itself is good. But I suggest going V+, cost lesser and it’s already very comfortable unless it’s a very sensitive wearer, but I have not seen anyone yet that doesn’t like mystyle v+.

lifestyle v+ will be discon whereas msp is still in the market

The lenses you using before is already very good. If not I suggest using Hoya mystyle series, mystyle profile or mystyle v+.

the frame is usually about 700-800.
For the lens…. I’m not looking for progressive…just d normal photochromic lens…

For my prescription what do you recommend and the pricing.

Also does IC Berlin have acetate type? And d pricing roughly. Thanks.

Iirc, IC Berlin do have and broad ones too but.. I don’t find them as appealing as lindberg(my opinion, take with a pinch of salt).

I would say either 1.67 or 1.74.. price wise I can’t rmb. Will check for you again.

Is it advisable to not make progressive lens but 2 separate ones? My current one tho been using for 2 years just don’t seem to give me crystal clear vision. It’s like not here not there. It’s like I need to keep adjusting to get clear vision and not to be blurry.

Can you recommend a 1.74 index photochromic lens that’s available in the market? I know Hoya, Zeiss and Essilor. Can rank them by good better best and the price roughly. Thanks for the information given.

U mean ID myself is too expensive or not so worth value due to law of diminishing effects?

Is lifestyle v+ sort of upgraded to the lifestyle 3 and 3i? Actually whats the difference or nor much difference for consumers?

In ascending order, lifestyle v+, lifestyle 3, mystyle profile/ID, mystyle v+.

mystyle profile is generally good good.

Best to use one still. More convenient.

1.74 photchromic lenses just go for Zeiss if it’s single vision, since it’s for far usage. Zeiss has the best clarity for distance. Followed by Hoya then Essilor but again, it’s just my view. Others opinion will differ for sure.

Went to a shop to get a spare pair of spectacles done. Casually mentioned my current Essilor Transitions’ issue with uneven tinting. The guy said he encountered such a manufacturing defect before, one whole batch got affected.

Learnt my lesson from this plus my sexperience with another pair of essilor lenses scratching easily. Going to save up for Hoya trivex for my next pair. Anything but essilor ever again.

Hi Gangsterkia,

What are your opinions on the new ZEISS BlueGuard lenses as compared to the current blue light blocking lenses in the market?

Hi Gangster,
I have a special situation, hope you are able to adviae.
I'm near 50 and have been using progressive for a couple of years.
Last year I was diagnosed with an issue that resulted in double vision (both eyes can't move together due to muscle issue) and requires a prism sticker on one of my lens.

In order to make a replacement specs, do I require specialized opticians, or the general ones such as the ones u recommended will do?
The concern is whether accurate eye degree test can be done without a corresponding prism to correct the double vision.

Hi there, by Any chance is the condition M.gravis?

also it’s better to look for a more specialised optometrist for that.
1 that I can think off hand would be to look for kelvin at eyewear optics. But do make an appt first before heading down.
He has vast experience in working with patients requiring prismatic correction/aid.

Hi!

it’s similar to the newly launch Hoya Full control. Has all the protections e.g. blue filter, multi coat and new anti bacterial coat..
Personally I feel,it’s not a must to have, but if it makes the consumer feel more protected then…. Haha can go for it 😅

Hi!

Thx for the reply!
I just researched and found that the Hoya full control has still using the blue control technology which is a blue light filter coating on the lens whereas for the blueguard,it is a kind of "newer" technology where the filtering is incorporated into the lenses which is supposed to produce less blueish reflection?

I believe is lesser of the yellowish hue apart from reflection.
Ultimately you have to decide if you need the anti-bacterial.
the main qualities you need would be the multi coat and blue light filter.

Thanks Gangster bro for your quick reply.

I'll have a word with Kelvin once appointment is made.
Thanks again 🙏
