Living & Dinning Room (5775 x 5625 + 3900 x 2825 = 43.5 sqm) at 16,825 cal. BTU
Your living and dinning room only require 16,825 BTU, so a RKS60LVMG (20,500 BTU) at 46 kg weight should be sufficient. So if you add 52 kg for MKM85VVGM (25.2k BTU) + 46 kg, its only 98 kg in total.

Ah thanks, forgot to consider 22K aircon & compressor.. say go ask for quotes for all the different combinations.
Thank you all gurus for your advices!

Great thread. Read the last few pages and learn alot.

Old HDB 5RM. Looking at Daikin iSmileEco MKM75VVMG + 3x CTKM25VVMG (only turn on 2 units max)

Any reliable shop to recomment? Need to dispose of the current system as well.

TQ very much. Cheers.

If you want more cooling capacity, the only option is to top-up to the 4G38VA2 / 5G48VA2 condenser.

Performance for 4G33VA2:
LR only: 17K BTU
LR + 1BR: 13.5K + 7.6K
LR + 2BR: 9.9K + 5.5K per BR
LR + 3BR: 7.8K + 4.4K per BR

Performance for 4G38VA2:
LR only: 17K BTU
LR + 1BR: 15.3K + 9.5K
LR + 2BR: 11.2k + 6.3K per BR
LR + 3BR: 8.9K + 4.9K per BR

Your other alternative is to opt for 2 condenser setup, 1x sys1 (GN24VA) + 1x sys3 (3G28VA2):
LR only: 22.5K BTU
LR + 1BR: 22.5K + 9.5K
LR + 2BR: 22.5K + 9.5K per BR
LR + 3BR: 22.5K + 6.4K per BR

This 2 condenser setup is similar to my own home, where I have a single split for LR, and a sys3 for 3 BRs, of which only 2 BRs are used daily
Thank you so much for explanation.
My parents looking at 4G33VA2 with 1x 12k BTU 3x 9k BTU which was promoted by the salesman .

seems like we need to look at 4G38VA2.
Home is 4 bedroom kind so all 4 units will be for rooms

Of course salesman will push and quote that the 4G33 is enough because the condenser will "push to max BTU" during the cooling phase. That ties in to the 4G33 being much cheaper to the 4G38, which will add to the likelihood of closing the sale with the customer.

Very unlikely any of them will show you the breakdown for your specific setup based on rated cooling capacity - where bold indicates FCU operating at rated capacity;

4G33VA2 w/ 1x FN13, 3x FN10 performance:
BR only: 9.5K
MBR only: 11.9K
BR + BR: 9.5K + 9.5K
MBR + BR: 11.1K + 8.9K
BR + BR + BR: 7.0K + 7.0K + 7.0K
MBR + BR + BR: 8.1K + 6.5K + 6.5K
MBR + BR + BR + BR: 6.2K + 4.9K + 4.9K + 4.9K

4G38VA2 w/ 1x FN13, 3x FN10 performance:
BR only: 9.5K
MBR only: 11.9K
BR + BR: 9.5K + 9.5K
MBR + BR: 11.9K + 9.5K
BR + BR + BR: 7.9K + 7.9K + 7.9K
MBR + BR + BR: 9.1K + 7.3K + 7.3K
MBR + BR + BR + BR: 7.0K + 5.6K + 5.6K + 5.6K

And what no online media will tell you is that Starmex's 5-tick range is essentially the old 2-tick range being given a handicap in order to achieve said efficiency;

4A38VA w/ 1x GE13, 3x GE10 performance:
BR only: 8.5K
MBR only: 11.9K
BR + BR: 8.5K + 8.5K
MBR + BR: 11.9K + 8.5K
BR + BR + BR: 8.5K + 8.5K + 8.5K
MBR + BR + BR: 11.9K + 8.5K +8.5K
MBR + BR + BR + BR: 9.9K + 7.1K + 7.1K + 7.1K

Mitsubishi Electric is Starmex. Unless you're referring to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, which is totally different.

Only reason I am biased to ME over Daikin is because ME is a lot more serviceable than Daikin's units.

May I know how do you calculate the reduced cooling capacity?

Is there a factor? I'm trying to decide which system is more suitable for me.

Previously you gave suggestion for me:
Yep. Prices based on GC:
4G38VA2 (sys3) + GN18VA - $6240
3G28VA2 (sys3) + GN18VA - $5430
3G28VA2 (sys3) + GN24VA - $5670
4G33VA2 (sys4) - $4380
4G38VA2 (sys4) - $4960

Though you could scout other aircon contractors. I remember mine quoting me $1.8k for GN24
I'm still considering if I should top up extra $1k to get a separate system for living room. Have to discuss about the usage with my SO.

You need to think carefully.. Buy an underpowered system and it's going to stay with you for the next 7 years + and it will effect the enjoyment of your aircon system.

Trying to rectify an underpower aircon system after that is not going to be $1k either. so don't be a case of penny wise pound foolish.

You see the trend here
People asking these questions don’t read past entries and always ask if a smaller and cheaper compressor will suffice …

Just went to gain city, nearly bought the system4 with 4G33VA2 at $4k.

After much considerations, I think I will go with 3G28 + 3xFN10 and GN24 for living room.

Total costs around $4.8k from letscoolaircon.com.

Only downside is the CU not enough to power all 3 bedrooms at the same time.

Hello Gurus, need some help here .
Am renovating a 4 room BTO and got a system 4 package of MKM85VVMG compressor + 24/12/9/9k

originally paid deposit for daikon eco iSmile series (R32), been told it’s oos for now . The salesperson suggested to me swap to daikin iSmile series or Mitsubishi Starmex R32 . Should I wait for stock to arrive or swap to starmex since it’s R32 system too .

Mitsubishi starmex bundle is MXY4H33VG and 24/12/9/9 (R32 gas)
Thanks in advance

You should first re-look at your aircon confguration, it's way underpowered...
How can a MKM85VVMG compressor (25K BTU) support 4 indoor units ie 24k+12K+9K+9K = 54k BTU in total.

that's assuming you turn it all on at the same time.
not everyone stays in a shopping mall.

Ultimately, it depends on the use case with the person having the units.

Thanks for pointing that out . The 24k will be in the living room , only on it when there’s guest over . We are only using one of the 9k for sleeping at night , 12k is in our walk-in wardrobe and the other 9k is an empty bedroom which is not in use .

any idea if I should go for Mitsubishi or daikin R32 series ?

Waiting for 24k BTU indoor unit. Was told that have to wait until November, because of supply issues in Thailand.

Anyone facing the same issue?
Can check do you mean those private air con company that inform you currently got supplies issue for all 24k BTU? Or big company itself like GC, Courts, HN, BD....also having supply issue?
