UpsAm keen to get Kindle but a bit confused over the devices and have some questions.
1. What's the difference between the normal Kindle and the paperwhite one?
2. Which one is value for money if just buying ebooks for reading?
3. Is amazon the only platform to buy ebooks for kindle?
4. Where to buy the device that is affordable?
Lazada?

Books bought from Amazon are DRM protected. so u got to strip them before you can open them elsewhere.anyone have experience of converting books from amazon and load it into your kobo reader for reading ?
i like it that amazon has the largest collection of ebooks compared to rakuten
but i dont like the fact that kindle supports less format of ebooks compared to kobo
i dont like the fact that i cannot load books which are not bought from amazon into kindle
so i am thinking to get the kobo sage instead of the kindle oasis after comparing the facts,
hence the above questions before i make my purchase,
thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to spend time to reply and share their experience
i borrowed ebooks from NLB Overdrive and read over 50 ebooks this year on the Kobo.Who is using kobo?
Is it good?
I use NLB overdrive often
Reading habits 50% physical books (preferred)
50% e books.
seemed like clara cheapest
thanks for the reply.i borrowed ebooks from NLB Overdrive and read over 50 ebooks this year on the Kobo.
Kobo can see different fonts if the book choose to show special characters which Kindle is not able. Example, Patrick Ness' series of Chaos Walking.
Kobo with Overdrive is really game changer for me since i had Kindles way before touch screen days and i even jailbreak to use screensavers when Kindle has keyboards.

https://sgereadershop.com/products/kindle-paperwhite-2021-gen-5anyone know where i can buy the kindle paperwhite 2021 signature edition ?
amazon dont have stock and i want to get a unit ASAP to start reading
My only problem with Kobo is that it only syncs with Overdrive App, not the Libby App.thanks for the reply.
bought kobo clara recenly during 11.11
even my kids love it. (they read physical books more than eboks)
but now, they go to my ipad (its faster to naviagate)
open nlb app
search for the books that they want
click borrow
go back to kobo to sync.
i read like 1 book every 1-2 weeks.
physical bought or NLB / epub from friends / nlb overdrives
Can expect me to go full kobo from now onwards.
just a minor (common) complain.
the Clara, refreshes the screen with a flash and it loads slower.
but then again, it is so much more comfortable to read on the kobo than on ipad. (ibooks or overdrive)
both the weight and the glare factor
