I have tried almost every brand of speakers. Must say audioengine is one of the top but not durable at all. Closest to an audiophile and super good sound has to be SWANS speakers for PC.
HiVi Swan Speakers Game Theatre 2.1 GT1000 [Black/Green] or M10. But I'm done with PC speakers.

I hook my PC with preamp, amp to my 18kg each audiophile speakers relatively small but dam good.

I previously was using Creative T40 II until it kinda died on me causing weird cracking and popping noises... then I finally settled on my current Edifier R1850DB, initially wanted to buy the cheaper and good R1280DB but walk whole of SLS cannot find.. let only the more expensive model in Fuwell... then go for it lor.. I never go for 2.1 as my table got no space lar.. but the bass is still pretty good.. just that if you love super low end bass that booming your whole room.. then you need to add your own subwoofer or go straight for a 2.1. Yeah R1850DB got option to add subwoofer to it.

Compare to those so called hifi review spaekers this is the best speakers that I have ever bought.

Last time I was using yamaha amp with 5.1 surrond spaekers also in hifi review but I feel that last time that one sound and bass not good as this JBL Quantum Duo Speakers which I am using for my pc now.
