I bought those external fan that you stick at the back of the phone. It managed to keep the phone at 46c while recording indoors, which pretty much allowed it to continuously record 4k without shutting down. Not ideal but otherwise don't see how else the overheating can be 'fixed' o_O I have alot of fun shooting with this phone though. Pity about the video.

This Pro-i looks really good. Looks very professional too but the price I can't afford and I don't usually hold phones long. If only can go without the free gift and get a direct discount.

The computational (software processing/ aka out of the box) side is always the weakness of the Xperia line.
So the HDR is weaker than norm. (Best HDR is like the Pixel 6 Pro's but you can argue that their HDR is soooo fake, the picture almost looks flat with barely enough contrast. I am starting to see trends from phones that they are trying to reign in the over processing to make images more natural)
Unless you do the traditional-photography multi exposure shots and combine which is too much effort imo.

My 2 cents with X1iii and Xproi is that if you do not go raw with some processing effort, you are likely to be disappointed with most of their out-of-the-box/point-and-shoot shots (if you compare with any flagship grade phones camera). In another words, if you go raw, you have to do a lot of work with HDR.
Xproi does differentiate itself with the very good videography though especially if you familiarize with the shutter speed settings while videoing for quality vs shake/video-jelly-effect.
and 1 last thing, their selfie camera (while serviceable) is just bad...

The front selfie camera sensor has been the same since xperia 1 if I remember correctly and its a Samsung sensor and has known long ago that the quality is not good. That's why Sony came up with display Bluetooth tripod grip combo ($399 at Sony store ) to utilize the main 1 inch type sensor for selfie / vlog . The GP-VPT2BT

unless you want to buy it purely for the camera
else Xperia 1mkIII or mkIV(this year) is more than sufficient

Yeah I do raw (raw is war!!!!) But sometimes the noise of the raw is quite unmanageable hahah or maybe I'm noob.

Anyone updated the firmware? I don't dare to update
