Hi there, I have been a victim of some anonymous email in which the sender has info of my personal life.

Are there any free tools in the Internet which I can lookup the email address and find out the registered name or contact, registered country?

I know some info filled in by the sender could be fake but I don't mind digging it up.

If it can work on the sender, wouldn’t it also work on your own email? Hence everyone with your email can also get hold of personal information about you?

It could very well be information that you have revealed in signing up for free gifts, online forms, surveys, when downloading software that these information are revealed.

just google your name or handphone number and see what u need to change.

dont use linked in, make twitter, ig, fb private, use another email address

you need some good social engineering skill to hook the anon sender into revealing his trait.

Depending on what content is sent in that anon email, blackmailing or demand? Reply to that email with a tracking link and bait the sender to click on that link for whatever thing he wants you to do. Before you do that you need to cleverly craft your message because you only have 1 chance.

Whats in that tracking link? It acts as a honeypot, tracks the opening with the sender's digital footprint, capture his IP, country, OS, browser etc whatever you need to know to ringfence and pinpoint his identity.

depending on your email client or email platform used, some plaform provides very detailed information between mail servers and email routings but this is only possible for emails received, unless the destination email server returns a non-delivery or some sort of error notice triggered... you can't tell where your email is being forwarded to. Sending wise you can track email opening via pixel tracking/firing (doesn't work everytime due to the unreliable tech) but you need to use specific email marketing/professional service to do that as normal consumers email doesn't offer this kind of feature.
