Haha for 4k video shooting none of the phones solve heating issue. Especially this disappointing snapdragon made by Samsung which Sony surely tried to tame it. Anyway Taiwan reviewers said there's a new firmware out already likely trying to tame the heat.
For more information on which is the main culprit for the heater processor watch this :

England version exist?

I know..but that's not what I am talking about. Usually for the display unit, you close the demo by swiping up to get to the home screen so you can access the normal phone function, like the home screen...but in this case, it opens immediately once you close it, so I have to keep swiping up to close it for like 5~6 times before it allows me to try the phone. Which it opens again just after a few seconds, can't even navigate or try the camera..felt like I was fighting with the phone.:ROFLMAO:
Anyway, it is probably just this specified unit in this outlet. Hope they had fixed it.
Nex ah? I tried their demo set but it’s very funky, screen keep going off.

It almost made me regret buying it. But when I received my phone today, it seems totally worth it :)

Went to nex to buy the case, $49 and only black available. No choice cause can’t find any other shops that sell it on the spot.

The purple color very similar to 1 III purple color.

Takes quite a while to install though!
25 minutes after posting I'm still stuck on "Installing 3/3" ???

Edit: After another 10 minutes it finally completed and suggested a restart. Total install time was probably 45 to 50min lol.

Just got a set from Sony Store a couple of days back. Walk in and the salesgirl said the preorder was still on and stocks were available.

The box packaging caught my eye. Easily the slimmest of all the Xperia phones so far. I was informed by the Sony staff that the charger and cable would not be included.

Managed to set it up early morning.

Love the user interface, easy to hold, excellent build, love the purple colour (only Sony purple works for me).

Of course heat was generated during the set up but which phone wouldn't. But after that, some use of the social media, WhatsApp and surfing, the phone felt slightly warm but my Pixel 6 (my previous phone and comparatively speaking) was warmer, bulkier and the Xperia 1 IV was easy on the hand.

I am using starhub and I am able to receive 5G.

I tested the bundled speaker RA 3000. The sound is not bad when playing a few songs off my playlist. Though I would have preferred the wireless headphones, of course.

You bought the casing? Remember to use casing because already there's a user post on reddit that paint peeling on the finger grip part.

Yup was updating while plugged in and charging from 50%. It felt just very slightly warm as was expected, I haven't had issues with the heat so far, coming from an S9+ that older phone definitely would have felt hotter. Will update when I use it more for a couple of days.

Yep, 1st day, it was ok...2nd day tried again, the demo software was acting up. Now it start turning off? :ROFLMAO:
Lazy to go other outlet to try.
Anyway, how was the phone so far? Does it drop the refresh rate to 60fps easily?

This demo mode thing was very annoying. I had to ask the staff to disable it for me to play play :ROFLMAO:

I dont think the screen refresh rate is adaptive now like the 1iii, it's locked in at 120hz when you select it if i'm not mistaken.

Yes, it should be locked to 120hz, but according to various online sources, it will lower to 60hz whenever the device gets warm.
The demo set also mirrored what they claimed, so I am looking for real user's experience.

Have been wanting to upgrade from my 1 II for the 120hz, but if it is going to drop to 60hz easily, maybe I should skip one more gen...

I think this would be an extreme case. But then again I don't game so if it overheats while gaming and then the framerate drops that might be disappointing. My daily normal use seems very much perfect so far.

I noticed a very peculiar bug where I changed the wallpaper on my phone and already positioned it nicely, but when I exit to my main screen my image has shifted to the right, so I need to move the image to the left when setting the wallpaper in order for it to display centered wtf hahaha.

@Toader do you have this problem?
