I see....
1) Hoan Kiem Lake and Hoan Kiem Area (AKA old Quarters)
Best to visit there over the weekends because the Police will block ALL THE ROADS and it becomes a HUGE WALKING AREA
  • - Within this area, you can walk around the lake which is already very popular with the locals for things like jogging, strolling their dogs, Pat-tor
  • - Vietnam Egg coffee (Try both hot and iced)
  • - Vietnam Sticky rice
  • - Bun Bo Nam Bo
  • - Hoan Kiem Weekend Night Market (The Biggest in Vietnam iirc)
  • - Famous Trang Tien ice cream
  • - Hanoi Opera House
  • - Beer Street

2) West Lake aka Ho Tay
3) Pottery Village (Need to travel outside of Hanoi city around 45-mins to 1 hour)
4) Lotte Building Observation Deck
5) St Joseph Cathedral
6) Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum
7) Hanoi Train street

Outside of Hanoi....
You can consider 2D1N stay Ha Long Bay
and 3D2N stay SAPA Mountains but do consider that the travel up to SAPA is around 6 to 8 hours by Car or bus or train
I went here, quite sexciting, super instagramable with the guiness world record
bach long glass bridge

Came back from my trip. Danang and Hoi an were real fun and an easy trip with family. Love the Bana hills, restaurants in Danang, vinwonders and coconut forest in Hoi An. Should be going back in 2 years time to visit Hue and tailor more clothes in Hoi An. Even took a ride on scooter for first time in my life!

btw, if you visit Hoi An now, most massage shops offer 20-30% discount and some even offer free pickup and dripoff. No queue at all the famous restaurants and banh mi outlets.

Hanoi is located north
Danang is located central
ho chi minh city is in the south

for Hanoi… you can consider
Ha long bay and Sapa

danang… take plane is way faster
But if you wish to enjoy sight seeing… you can consider train

should be enough.

might need to plan 3D2N for Sapa since it is up in the moutains
so it takes around half-day to get up there and another half-day to get back to Hanoi.

Yeah… so far I only know is 4-bedder per room for trains.

afaik, locals are taking planes more often than trains especially if the distance is half-way across the country.

considering that it only takes like 30-40mins to fly from hanoi to Danang.

in fact Domestic flights is already very common even before covid, with around 4-5 airlines fighting for passengers (Vietnam Air Vietjet, Jetstar Pacific, Bamboo and VietTravel)
Some of these airlines will frequently have special events or time-based events like $1 seats with +++++

But… if you travelling to Vietnam to rest and relax and you wish to see a different side of Vietnam… then consider taking the train would be a good option… just need to make sure you padlock your belongings and barricade your room door at night XD

I am also planning a solo trip to Danang- Hoi An- Hue- Hanoi!

I have no idea how much time to spend in these places and not plan an itinerary for these places.

Is Hoi an worth visiting (if yes, how much time) since its south of Danang and i am arriving at Danang and the rest is up north of Danang?

Am going solo early July.

Thanks for any advises offered.

If no booster shots, can enter Vietnam? The tracetogether will show that you are unvaccinated

Hue, Danang and Hoi An are considered the Three sisters of Central Vietnam.
You can consider spending 2-3 days in each city.
And then travel to Hanoi via plane at danang airport.

Any itinerary to share?

Some say 1 day trip to Hoi-an enough liao!

Am thinking of taking train Hue to Hanoi, but i heard that there's no single private cabin. I am afriad if i go toilet come back baggage all missing.

Is it still Hot weather now/july in Danang or also same as SG Monsoon season liao?

Now summer in Vietnam is super hot especially from central up to North
Temp in day time can hit 40-42 degrees
Walking outdoors even with sunblock like SPF50+++, your skin will still be tan

night time will drop to 28-33degree… you can put a glass of ice and watch it melt right in front of your eyes XD

Just pray hard to rain cuz it will really bring the temp down to the lower mid 20s

TRAIN at most is 4-pac cabin with bunk beds. Some comes with toilet ensuite.
but the cleanliness errrmmmm… really is heng suay
So imo if you have luggage To play safe… go with plane bah
If you backpack… can consider train.

i heard of 1day Hoi An tour… its a “Going to all the most famous spots” kinda trip
personally… i feel its kinda rush

previously i also did a 1day trip to dalat… very rush
