Opened a TDA account and put in 100k. But every put option I sell takes up the full value of the shares of my buying power. Can only sell a couple of puts....

Wrote in and was told mine is. Tier 2 margin account, after I filled up the account upgrade form.

Anyone knows how to fill in the account upgrade form in the right way to get to tier 4 ?

My friend ac on tier 4, 4 AAPL options only take up 3k of buying power!
Your friend likely is on Portfolio Margin. 100k net liq should qualify you for it.

What is the best method to withdraw TDA funds without incurring too much feesI have been investing for over 25 years and I’ve never made a withdrawal. I rarely sell any investment either, my ideal holding period is forever.

In over 25 years of investing, the closest thing to making a withdrawal was the transfer I did when E*TRADE Singapore shut down. Did an ACAT to TD Ameritrade. Didn’t cost that much ($29 maybe?) and TDA was willing to reimburse the expense, but I was too lazy to claim it.

employee verification meaning? your firm uses TDA as their share plan administrator?

no my company does not use TDA. so i wanted to open account on TDA, and there is a section that ask for employment verification. and they specifically ask for payslip or CPF statements. i thought its just verifying my employment status so censor off the amounts..but leaving my company name so they can see every mth my employer is crediting to my CPS. they rejected it and say they want to see the numbers. i thought is emploment verification, not income verfication. other brokers never ask to show full income so i find it very strange, what they trying to verify actually. if want to verify income, they should have just said so, and not say they want to verify employment

Sharing my experience withdrawing from TD

1) USD25 withdrawal fee by TD
2) $10 telegraphic charge by POSB
3) Poor exchange rate by POSB (1.32 vs 1.329 by Tiger broker)
Probably too late, but you could have withdrawn your USD to a DBS MyAccount or other multi-currency account and transferred to somewhere else for conversion back to SGD.
